By the Stats: Clausen Outplays Brees

On 10-3-2010, Jimmy Clausen had a QB Rating of 90.6-.4 higher than Drew Brees.

275 yards, 0 INT's, and a W. I think Brees clearly outplayed Clausen. That's not a knock on Clausen, I thought he did okay today.

Brees is good, the Saints are lucky, and the refs loves them some new orleans home cooking.

also, we kicked ourselves in the shins to lose the game. Terrible.

Brees has a higher completion percentage, more yards, same amount of TDs, and was sacked less.

I guess Clausen's average is what gave him the edge.

He didn't make a single "stupid" pass. He threw some into the dirt and was out of sync with his recievers 1 or 2 times but overall he looked great for a rookie.

The clock management was probably his biggest folly. As far as purely passing he's looked pretty good.

No he didn't. For a rookie starting his 2nd game in a tough environment with one of the worst receiving cores in the league, I thought he had a great day.
