Didnt work out for Pat. He didnt make it as an NFL QB although Im happy he's playing baseball. He wasnt the first QB prospect not to make it, and he wont be the last.

BTW, how did that Jeff Lewis thing work out in Charlotte? How did that Randy Fasani thing work out in Charlotte? How did that Stefan Lefors thing work out in Charlotte? How did that David Carr thing work out in Charlotte? How did that Matt Moore thing work out in Charlotte? How did that Kerry Collins thing work out in Charlotte?

u do make a good point.

You've probably never heard me, because white qbs are always suggested and recommended on this board. For 6 years running, every year there's a prospect white QB thats been suggested on this board. From Quinn, to Cutler, to Stafford, to Bradford, you name it, every year. And you've never seen me try to convince another poster why we shouldnt get one of those guys either like you regularly see posters do with me when I suggest a black one. You know X-Clown Ive sung Brady's praises on this board. I like Aaron Rodgers, Ben Rothlisberger, Drew Brees as well. So its not a thing of me not liking white QBs, I'd take Brady first before any one. Its just a matter of me seeing the fact a segment of our fanbase wants every single QB we have to be white and believes in their mind white QBs are always better than black ones no matter how much they suck. Im one of the few people on this board that will openly say otherwise and that makes folks angry.

King T, being that you are one of the few posters on the board whose posts I do read regularly I am asking you an honest question as to which white quarterbacks you've suggested the Panthers add. I've never seen you campaign for one. Did you like the 4 players you mentioned above before they were superstars for other teams and/or were you campaigning for us to go after those guys when they were in college?

Rodney Peete worked out great for us.

Chris Weinke worked out great for us. LOL. I'd take Peete over what we've seen from our 2 QBs this season eaaaaaaaaaaaasy. Sad aint it? Our offense sucks, draft a QB when we bring in the new regime. Terrelle Pryor from the Ohio State will be there. Its time for change.

Rodney Peete worked out great for us.

He actually did. Was the starter for a team that had a 6 game improvement when it was expected that he would play the backup role the whole season to Weinke. Had he not missed two games in which we had to start the dreaded combo of Weinke/Fasani we could have had a winning season. The national media made light of the choice to start Peete, but it was the right one.

KT is right about people would rather be 0-16 than have Mike Vick as QB.

It doesn't really matter what people want one way or another.

Jerry Richardson absolutely, positively will not hire employees who have the kind of legal baggage Vick has.

It's pointless to argue what a fan thinks, it will never happen as long as JR owns the Panthers. He prefers losing over stretching the envelope. It is what it is and it's what we all signed on for as Panther fans.

Pass rushing DT is the biggest need on imo. DT Marcell Dareus is a possibility. There has been little to no pressure coming from our current DTs. We're limited at DE, but DT is a far greater concern.

On offense I think everyone agrees that a #2 WR is the biggest need. I'd take A.J Green, he has the speed, leaping abiltiy, and excellent hands to make a nice #2 WR. Gettis simply doesn't have the speed to be our #2. If you watch him in the Saints game the seperation isn't there. Jarret will be cut, and Lafell can't catch, so Green might be the pick. Edwards can be our #3 if he improves leaps and bounds. Lafell can stay for depth.

I think we'll either go with a WR or DT in the first round.

I think its funny that you say Gettis doesnt have the speed, when in reality, hes one of our fastest players...

Anyways, there is more than just pure speed to create seperation, alot of it comes down to route running ability, which he is still learning at.
