For the record, I know more about football than Davidson. I wish it were an opinion, but unfortunately it's a fact.

There is documented weekly posts from me dictating the game plan that actually won the Panthers a football game this season.

Last week they went back to Davidson's usual plan and looked exactly the same.

What pro team are you the coordinator for?? What college?? Everyone can sit at home behind a computer and spew plenty of wisdom. We call them armchair coaches.

I think when people say Davidson is a moron, they are comparing him to other OCs around the league and hopefully not to themselves.

and as one of the worst offenses of the league, if not the worst, I have to say Davidson's game plan is pretty bad but there is plenty of blame to go around this year.

That usually isn't playcalling so much as execution by the players. Other teams run similar plays with great success. The difference is their players execute better than we do. Plain and simple.

Lack of talent is not really his fault.

I am no fan of Davidson, I just have to laugh at people on here thinking they could do better. He didn't suddenly get stupid after the 2008 season. The only thing that has changed is the personnel we have to run his offense.

Jeff Davidson called two trick plays that resulted in absolute disasters, a turnover on one while the other set up 3rd and 20. Also notice David Gettis was targeted I believe only once after a 2TD 100+ yard game that propelled us to victory a weak ago.

Ron Meeks saw the Rams come out early and settle for the underneath dink and dunk game plan. They did it early and often. They were still doing it when the game was decided. No adjustments to confront this. How about playing man to man or bringing in more corner backs? Seemed satisfied to hold Jackson from a big game while losing.

These guys are amateurs and so are the people who brought them in and keep them here.

There is nothing wrong with an opponent throwing short dink and dunk passes against our zone defense. In fact, the plan is for the opposing offense to do just that. Our zone defense can then do what it was designed to do, our defenders can blast the reciever after the catch and try to strip the ball. Also, big hits can harm recievers, or make them more hesitent. A high number of short pass attempts is exactly what our defense wants. Even though the Rams didn't turn the ball over, the potential to generate turnovers was there. Even though our offense turned the ball over 4 times and looked moronic, the Rams only managed 20 points. That's about what you would expect a good defense to give up given the circumstances. I'm not saying our defense played a great game, but I think they pulled their own weight.

Now the offense....

Stop trying to talk football here and make sense. It will make all the supposed arnchair coordinators look bad. Forget that our defense is fourth in total yards. Meeks has to be an amateur.

One thing that actually makes me shake my head is the number of folks who are dead certain that Davidson will never get another job in the league. Likewise the folks who think Fox won't be a head coach again. Reality is that both will more than likely have shots to succeed again elsewhere, maybe even with the same team.

Consider for moment that Danny Crossman is still an NFL coach, guys. Danny Crossman.

Take a step further back. You know the guy Crossman replaced? His name is Stan Kwan, and guess what? He's got another job too.

The NFL coaching carousel is a recycling project that would make Greenpeace envious. Look at the average coaches resume' and you won't always see progression. NFL level coaches often get second, third, fourth chances and more. Sometimes they take a step back before taking a step forward again, but not as many of them simply fall off the face of the earth as some would believe.

Argue all you want over whether you think they deserve their jobs or not, but if you look at the trends, it's a safe bet Davidson, Fox and many of the rest of the staff who aren't retained here nest year will still find jobs in the league.

It's not that we're saying they'll never find work again, but there's this contingency of posters that think that Fox is going to drop into the free agent coaching market and auction himself off to every other team sans a head coach dropping stacks of money at his feet, and then all these Fox fans are going to look back at us like "HUH, YOU SEE?!! YOU SEE!!?????? HE'S TEJH GREATEST MOST RESCHPECTEDEST COACH THAT'S EVER BEEN IN EVER!!!!!"

there's at least just as good, or maybe even more of a chance of him taking a demotion elsewhere. Jim Fassel never held a position better than OC after leaving the giants, Dan Reeves never found legit work in the NFL again, and both those guys took their teams as far as a Superbowl appearance. Bobby Ross found work head coaching the Lions but that's still 1-2. There aren't too many examples of HCs like that in the last 20 years.

Fox might even prefer a demotion. Just spit balling, but being a HC could be overwhelming for him the last few years and he might rather be looking for a breath of fresh air even if he wants to eventually dive back in the deep end.

    • Sir. You have been shouting down any and all valid skepticism and criticism of our #1 overall pick for 2+ years running. You spent all last spring running cover for him and complaining about derails and toxicity only for us to open the season with back to back blowout losses largely contributed by Bryce Young's abysmal play. You have engaged in the exact same formula this spring. You've spent the last two months rage pooing my posts like an angry ten year old even while you've had me on ignore just for speaking the truth about this QB room and our offense. We opened the season with yet another blowout loss this time to a previously 4 win team. And here you are still trying to play the victim while weaponizing the reactions. Any suggestion of you being victimized by anyone else here is a complete and utter farce. You know it. I know it. Have yourself a great day.
    • If he went to Clemson he would be off the board. Still hard to believe they have never drafted a Clemson player.
    • Simply put, Evero has been shafted during his time here. The talent we left him to play with last season was criminal. They've invested some more into the D this offseason, but it's still a unit that's woefully short of talent.  We should have let him walk in the offseason when he wanted to go.
