Please think about me...

when you are doing what ever it is that you do. Whether it be praying, meditating, sending positive vibes or what eva.

For the last 3 years I've been considered high risk for developing glaucoma. I have to visit the eye doctor every 6 months to check the pressure of my eyes and various other tests.

Today was my latest appointment. I was informed that my status has changed from high risk to borderline and now I have to come every 3-4 months for pressure checks & the other tests.

I'm pretty upset about this whole thing because glaucoma causes blindness. My Granny had glaucoma and was legally blind for the last 30 years of her life. As you can imagine, I really don't want this to be me.

I'm in the 'high risk' group too. My thoughts are with you.

I'm really sorry. My mother is battling the same kinds of glaucoma problems albeit she is in her 60s and recently had surgery.

As some have said, Marijuana actually does help problems like this although you may be against drugs.

tons of "drugs" out there.. funny how propaganda has us picking on the "devil weed"..

anyhow, LIAG, sorry to hear! you are definitely in my positive thoughts...

Yep, marijuana helps relieve pressure on the eyes! (Or so I've been told.)

Did they use the "puff" test? Where they put a puff of air into your eye? I always flunk that. I have "squinty" eyes.

Like this.

Good luck to keep it down or lower!

He's a good looking old man.

They used to do the puff test but these days they use the other one on me because it's more accurate, it the one where they actually stick the blue thing on your eyeball. It's much worse than the puff test, but tolerable since I stick my finger in my eyes everyday putting my contacts in.

Dang, LIAG, I'm so sorry to hear that! I really don't know what to say other than my thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Look into all of the options! Medical, holistic, whatever

I've been doing some research on holistic options since I'm not diagnosed with it yet. I'll be talking about it with my acupuncturist at my next appt.

And for all of you who suggested the "other" holistic approach, ;) it does reduce pressure but not as much as you might think it would. I've already been looking in to it. I actually read in one place that you'd pretty much have to smoke it nonstop for it to produce the effect of pressure reduction. And apparently it works with all hemp.

There is more to glaucoma than just reducing eye pressure although once you have it controlling pressure is the key to preventing it from getting worse.

I heard you can cook it into baked goods and get a stronger and less obstrusive effect on your lungs...:)
