Where are all the AE lovers?

I'm just going to ask a question, I really mean no disrespect or sarcasm in any way.

Armanti "Homers", at least what I can tell by the bulk of their posts, seem to write as if his "Haters" actually hate Armanti Edwards.

Do any of you unsupportive of him playing QB actually "hate" the man like others have made it sound like? Or just favor the fact that he was drafted to play WR, and all his time should be used learning his new position? That would not be unreasonable at all.

Personally, this is how I look at it. We know Armanti Edwards is an athlete, whether at QB or WR. As a 2nd round pick (technically 3rd), and due to the current disaster of a season, why not see just what we have in this project? Get him 5-10 snaps a game behind center and see what he can do with just a couple plays practiced as a quarterback. If we don't try something, we will never know just what we have. If it's disaster, then the experiment is over with and he goes back to WR core and as a return man. If he makes the most of his chances, then we at the very least have something entertaining to look forward to on Sunday's. Armanti making a couple plays with with arm and legs would benefit everyone on this offense.

This being said, it could just be Fox and Davidson and company throwing in the towel and once again showing their stubbornness to try something new and unpredictable.

Though difficult to determine without having any certainty of who our next Head Coach will be, do you think the next man will at least incorporate AE into the offense in more ways than just one? After all, he is under contract and cheap.

I agree that they need to get him on the field. I want to see him returning some punts and kickoffs and even throw him the ball a few times. The Panthers have more to lose with Armanti than they do with Clowney. Clowney has made some nice grabs but I think its time to give Armanti a turn.

I hate Hurney giving up what will ostensibly be the 33rd pick this year for Edwards.

That's all.

I've liked Armanti since the 1st time I saw him play. I know he can be great in this league...but a 33rd pick for him is crazy. Hurney must have really liked something about him. I just don't understand why hes not getting any chances, especially with how bad this team is.

My issue with the AE-at-QB is that it could set back his development at WR. I want him to have success, and I honestly believe WR is his best bet... But since we are now "stocked" at WR as far as young WRs go, I don't think it would hurt to have him take QB snaps, because he isn't getting on the field at any other position no matter how much we want him to.

If Clausen doesn't play, I would not be surprised if AE was our #2 QB and he ran a lot of plays.

I feel like he would get hurt just as easy coming across the middle to catch a pass playing slot or even returning kicks/punts. I think everybody at least wants to see what he can do at any postition at this point of the season.

Properly coached a WR should know when the zone is coming and protect himself at times.

Wait.

At 5' 11" and 180lbs I don't know how many blind sides anyone who wants Edwards at the QB position thinks he can take.

Even a speedster like Vick outweighs him by 35lbs.

Somehow Smitty survives and thrives. Let's face it, some of the little guys can take a hit and some of the big players are as delicate as ballerinas or professional soccer players.

Give him a shot. He's still got the most upside of any potential QB we have on the roster.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
