Colt Mccoy ankle sprain could be Jake vs Panthers?

Browns quarterback Colt McCoy left Sunday’s loss to the Jaguars in a walking boot, the kind his fellow quarterbacks Seneca Wallace and Jake Delhomme have worn this season for high ankle sprains.

No diagnosis has been given yet for McCoy’s injury. He will undergo further exams Monday in Cleveland. McCoy injured the ankle on an 11-yard sack in the third quarter on a bootleg play.

For a short period of time, Wallace warmed up on the sidelines. But McCoy said he wanted to stay in the game and felt he could finish. Wallace said he had no idea why they didn’t go to him. “I just go in when they tell me,” he said.

More likely Wallace to start if Mccoy cant go but the Delhomme match up would make the game more interesting,

People talk so highly of NFL coaches and scouting but the Browns are the finest example of why NFL fans think they know more than these people.

Their QB lineup at the beginning of the season was from worst to first. How does this happen? God forbid this team have a 4th string or practice squad QB. He may be the next Peyton Manning.

If Jake lights us up... I don't think I can go on with the season. I'll come back after the season is over. If we win, then I'm going to break something expensive. No, something cheap, this season isn't worth something expensive. Time for me to start thinking like Jerry.

If Delhomme starts he could really screw us.

He might through us the ball and we end up winning and not get the 1st draft pick.

Throw. You mean to say throw us the ball.

With our offense scoring points for the other team I don't think it matters if Jake throws 10 ints unless we score off every one of them.

Have you guys forgotten who Jake Delhome is?

He has the inexplicable moments of beauty like all of his career comebacks.

He's still got a little mojo left. Hopefull he is too old and he doesn't have a smitty like reciever to force the ball to.

Don't watch out for Jake Delhome, watch out for his mojo. It's dangerous.

    • You joke, but hasn't basically the whole team been in Charlotte this past week together? I'm not one to see the random dumb stuff players put out on social media in the offseason and think it means that's ALL they've been doing and not working on their game.  But it's a little strange that all this is coming out at the same time we're seeing tons of stuff with the team in Charlotte together, even if it's just working out and not even official team OTA's or anything. So he gets a pass from me saying anything now, but if he doesn't show clear improvement this season, it then opens him up to some retroactive criticism for some things.
    • Ha-ha, I bet that went through everyone's mind.  Admittedly I don't read all the comments in a thread before I make a post. Great minds think alike!
    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
