I know, I was responding to that one guy's stupid post that he still hasn't backed up.

don't look for an official statement because there isn't one.

shut the f**k up

You tell me to shut the **** up but my statement is true.

The players want to work less and make more (most evident by the fight over OTA's)

while

Owners want the players to work more and make less.

Is it that hard to understand?

I think it's pretty sad that people have grossly inaccurate ideas about how much nfl players make.

I see that the cheaper player in the league, with 0 years experience this year, is making $325,000. Seems that each year that player gets in experience, his min. salary goes up $70k a year almost. That's not a bad raise. Most players make more than min. too. I know they have agent fees, but even after that, I'm quite sure EVERYONE on both sides is making good money.

It's no one's fault if NFL players can't get a realistic mortgage or car selection like the rest of America.

the players are not asking for more money, and they are not asking to work less.

OTAs are pretty pointless at this point. Nothing is really accomplished at them. They don't get paid to be there (with the exceptions of individually negotiated roster bonuses etc)

players get paid for games, except for things like the preseason lol

Owners want the players to work more and make less.

i don't disagree with this.

Fill us in.

average career is 3 years and you earn 1.2 before taxes, agent fees, etc.

78% of nfl players are bankrupt 2 years after their career ends with no job skills to support them, and most of them coming from poor rural or urban environments.

nfl players are the lowest paid among the four professional north american sports leagues.

a really good argument can be made that the nfl prays on poverty but i dont want to go into the effort for it.

Less work, more money.

Same demands all employees have

owners want more work for less money. same things all business owners want.

only thing is that it's the owners stepping in out of the blue telling the players "hey, we want you to work 12% more, but we are going to cut back payroll."

the players aren't asking for a decreased work load. they aren't asking for more pay.

There are all these statistics, so it's not anyone's fault they don't get their college degree, or go back to finish.

I don't know why NFL players can't fall into the same rules as every day citizens do?

I'm sorry, I don't feel sorry for them, or the owners.

1.2 mill over 3 years is pretty good, you can get a house paid off, car paid off, and have some money to invest.

I don't disagree with the bolded statement at all.

However, this whole issues revolves around the almighty dollar. The players look at the weakest of thiers and think they are underpaid, while the owners look at the wealthiest players and generalize the whole group as overpaid.
