started today in place of Gamble for whatever reason. The pick six aside, his cover skills are top notch. If we part with Marshall after this season, is Captain ready to be a starting corner?

I think his size is still an issue IMO. Cap can play no doubt, but I think we still need an elite CB to pair up with Gamble. Captain is my hero though! He plays with his foot to the pedal from start to finish!

i don't see him being anything more than a nickelback. he can fill in when necessary and he does have good cover skills, but his size is a huge liability. he simply can't wrestle down those bigger running backs or receivers (or outjump them for a ball.)

He might have to be because I don't think we will sign any veteran corners and I doubt we use any picks on another one anyways. I hope we can resign Marshall for a decent price, but I won't be too heart broken if he leaves. We need line help, especially DT. I'd like to draft P.Peterson, but if Luck is on the board he has to be the guy. Tough to pass on that DT from Alabama as well. Thank God Captain has started to come into his self this season.

Side note: Gamble might be viewed as trade bait by a potential new coach. Doubt it will happen, but him and Gross are on the fringes of this youth movement. I wouldn't want to lose either of them however.

Captain is a valuable member of the defense but yeah I want another CB to replace Marshall who is almost certainly gone this season.

Champ Bailey or Patrick Peterson sure look nice.

Keep him as the nickel corner. He has pretty good coverage skills, but I disagree with it being top notch though. Ive seen him get beat too like Marshall from time to time. He's good as a nickel corner because when starting he is out sized and penalty prone.

Sure, having an elite CB would be great but there are less than five of those in the league, so the odds of us getting one aren't great.

Also, Marshall is better than people on here give him credit for. I'd like to see him resigned if he'll accept a reasonable contract.

Love Captain has great heart and a ton of energy but I believe he is best served as that 3rd CB in the nickel. Marshall almost assured to leave so Captain will start i am sure just to many other holes to fill and CB wont be addressed.

Captain may be smallish, but his tacking skills are light years ahead of Richard 'i'm gonna jump back first atcha' Marshall. 41 should be starting.

If Cap were 3 inches taller, he would be a pro bowl CB. He's as tough as nails and one hell of a nickel back. That guy has a heart of a lion.
