For all of the Clausen 'nad polishers- after 5 more games you no longer have the excuse that he's a rookie. No better time than the present to start thinking of excuses for next season... if he stays in Charlotte...

Well, i geuss next year you can use the "Matt Moore just recovered from an injury excuse."

Everyone knows Jimmy will be here next year either Moore or Pike will be gone maybe both.

that's technically true, but on a practical level there's not much of an argument to be made

and the truth is, i doubt anything clausen does in these last five games will influence what happens to him. the FO has got to be wary of anointing a late-season riser the starter for next year after the matt moore debacle. he will likely be on the roster as a backup option for the next year or two (as he should be) while he is learns the nuances of the position from an established veteran.

clausen is not starting material, but he has big potential. let's not forget that.

I'm stuck in a Catch-22. I want to see Clausen do well and improve. I also want to see the Panthers lose out and snag the first pick in the draft. Ironically, that means Armanti Edwards will have cost us the first pick of the second round, ouch.

Matt Moore is not a starting QB in the NFL. Did not get the job done.

Jimmy Clausen is not getting the job done and should consider himself lucky to be on the team because he would not be starting for any other team in the league right now.

Yes soon as the season ends they will all be as craft and experienced as a 7 yr vet.

You almost have to start wondering....since the Panthers are paying him, if Clausen would have benefited sitting behind Jake for a season...or two. Because sitting behind Luck (or whoever) won't do much for him, but a vet would have gone a long way, like Rodgers in GB.

ANY vet QB on the roster would have helped immensely in tutoring the rook QBs on the roster. The coaching staff has been completely exposed in not being able to develop young players again this season.
