The Good Things About Christmas

I love seeing family & being with family. I love the shopping, decorating, baking, & cooking. I love helping others that are in need, we're trying to help out a family in need this year. I love the excitement that my daughter has. I love it all really. I get so excited about it, I'm like a kid inside.

Christmas bonus.

Must be nice. In the 10+ years of my career, I have only gotten one Christmas bonus and that was a $100 bill. Companies just don't do that anymore. They only care about their own budgets for meeting numbers and could care less about the employees.

For instance, my company this year decides to provide a Christmas luncheon for all of the employees. At first thought, not too bad, at least it's something. However, it is something the "managers" have to provide for the employees. The managers cook the food, bring it in, and serve the employees. Company pays for the food (ham, turkey, bread, giant cans of green beans, etc.).

What really pissed me off is the fact I was told I had to cook a ham. I am not a manager. I work in IT as a systems engineer. Since I am not a manager (even though I do director level work), I do not have employees that report to me. I was not a happy camper. So I just referred to the Christmas luncheon as a "pot luck" and people are not too happy with me about that. Oh well, they can go fist themselves.

Sorry, this was my rant of the month.

I dunno. its a hard one not being Christian when everybody in school is. I dunno what ill do.

that's what I was thinking man. i think a lot of people probably struggle with the religion when raising a child. is there god, allah, etc...i don't want to get into tinderbox discussions.

you have to deal with saying there isn't a santa when the largest part of her peers will be asking her what he is bringing her. glad i'm not dealing with that.
