Is Charles Johnson top 10?

It merely appears he's Top 10 given the relative atrocity the rest of the team is. I'm surprised someone hasn't used the same relative comparison to suggest Goodson as a Top 10.

Look, I like CJ at DE. I think he was a good draft pick and I think he'll be very good for years to come, but he's not yet a Top 10. He just looks that good when surrounded by crap.

I would have totally agreed with you, but that snipe at Goodson wasn't cool ;)man. Goodson is a nice all purpose back with good upside. Johnson is my fellow dawg and all, but has not yet reached the top plateau. He is a good DE who may be playing about as well as he can. That would be my bet, but I could be wrong.

But the fact that he plays with crap shows how good he is, no one on that D-line helps him out or takes away pressure from him yet he still puts up numbers.

Johnson has and is continuing to have a top 5 season let alone top 10. However the guys in the top 10 have been there for some time, so CJ needs to repeat this level next season and beyond. If he can, we have one of the most complete DEs in the NFL.

That said he is yet to produce the game changing plays such as interceptions, BPs and fumbles that the guys at the top do regularly. However not many of them can play the run like he does.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
