How much do the Panthers effect your overall mood

I still look forward to games. We might lose by 21 + on Thurs but I can't wait for the game. Win or lose, it is a distraction/entertainment to invest emotionally in a sport team and something you can no control over. They serve the purpose regardless for the most part.

I don't really care right now. You just gotta accept the season will be crappy and wait till the offseason for changes to come.

When we're actually good it pisses me off that I wasted 3 hours to watch a team underachieve. If we're geniunely outclassed then it doesn't bother me. Or if it's a close game against a quality opponent then it's disappointing but not enraging.

This season quit bothering me about 5-6 games ago.

great thread..

that's a 2 part question..

I have an extreme competitive streak.. I like to talk poo and I hate to lose.. so in normal years, I may need a couple hours after a loss before I get calls from my friends who might pull for the Bucs, Pats, or whoever.. They know if they call me during a loss or right after a loss, I'm about to rip them over the phone..

This year.. when it's obvious it's a down year, it hardly affects me.. there is no reason to invest my emotions in a 2-14 (I hope) year.. I feel if people are still pissed because we are losing, then they have no concept of how to separate expectations/acceptance and reality..

next year will be a similar year as this.. I doubt the playoffs will be in our future when a new system is being put in place.. if so, we are ahead of the curve. I will hate to lose, but it should be expected..

    • I knew very little about this player before we drafted him. When I read scouting reports about him I understood the pick and thought it made sense as a late round receiver with speed and special teams ability but after watching him more closely and now adding his interviews into the equation I'm actually really excited about him. I know it's just RMC but I noticed him running his routes with this extra step that really stood out to me during the general video posted earlier without realizing who it was doing that.  His speed in his first cut is just on another level and it's visible. When I saw it I was **** whoa, who was that?! Then I saw Horn JR. and my first thought was oh it's him. I think it's very possible that he was under appreciated going into the draft due to his height and stats because he played at Colorado where the attention was on 2 other players but I think this dude's ceiling is way higher than most think it is. Especially after watching his interview. He looks hungry. I may have found my fav rook for this year's pre-season. I like pulling for underdogs anyway and as someone who played on the small side myself it just gives me more reason to cheer for him. The competition at WR looks like it's going to be fierce this season. I honestly can remember any preseason where I looked at out wr group and got past 3 players who I thought were interesting but this season I'm interested in at least 5 who have my attention going into the season.
    • Wilson should be getting called for at least 3 penalties a night even in the post season. How does he not lead the NHL in PM???
