Williams doesn't get FedEx Ground Player of the Year

Adrian Peterson does. Surprised? I am. I really thought with the way that DeAngelo played this season would get him something. But, I guess I thought wrong. I know I'd take Williams with his 1,515 yards and 18 rushing TD's over Petersons 1,760 and 10 TD's. Anyway, I've stated how I feel about it, but here it is.

there was a good case for any of them

Williams led the leauge in TD's and YPC. while being top 5 in alot of other things.

the only i thing i think that hurts williams is the fact that he split carries with stewart, while he did more with less he also benefited from always being on fresh legs and didn't have to carry the team alone

if he does it again next year he will definatley get the props, hopefully he doesn't turn into fred taylor

the only guy that chose williams was marshall faulk.

Peterson doesn't have to carry all the load, and he didn't all of it, nor last year, Chester Taylor is a starter on most other teams. Peterson also fumbles more than anyone. He's probably going to have more fumbles this year than DWill in his whole career.

You can chalk this up to us being a small market team, oh well. Seriously proves how uneducated NFL fans are about football.

Nonsense. Factor in Petersons 9 fumbles and its a no contest in my mind.

But of course not once did the panelists or the blurbs mention the big factors, all they ever talked about was yards.

that is true, peterson's highlights come at a big price while deangelo's didn't

i can't believe i forgot about fumbles

The panelists only mention what comes up on the teleprompters

Peterson got 77% of his teams carries. That is carrying the load. However, if you gave DeAngelo Williams 77% of our carries he likely would have put up more yards than Peterson. He already had way more TDs as it is.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
