God forbid this is the way the Draft shakes out

The closer we get to the draft the more it feels like Mason Graham could be there at #8. If it's between him and Walker, I think Graham is the way to go. Just feels like a safer choice overall.

I'm also increasingly iffy on the trade down option. Unless we get a big offer from a team in the 20s (Steelers moving up for Sanders?) I don't know that trading down to 10-15 will end up being worth an extra 3rd rounder or so if we end up missing out on both Graham and Walker.

Having said that, I do like Jihaad Campbell if we do end up trading down to that range.

I think the Panthers have the luxury of ignoring positional value. Pick the best player that isn't a QB, RB or interior offensive lineman. Any other position is a legit option. TE, Safety, OT, LB, Edge, CB, WR... all should be options at 8.

But what we aren't talking about is the next 2 picks. They need to be solid contributors too, with starter-level snaps. Week 1. Not week 8.

Has that helped the Bengals?

…the eagles have premium receivers but they also mostly run the ball and rely heavily on those lines and rotation

football is, and will always be, build from the inside out

The Bengals made the Super Bowl? The Eagles made the Super Bowl before Saquon, but only after AJ Brown and DaVonta Smith? Am I taking crazy pills?

Guys, I get that the trenches matter, but you can’t act like it’s the only thing that matters. The NFL clearly thinks that receiver is a premium position, including, yes, the team that won the Super Bowl.

Who won the superbowl? The eagles?

Whom is their highest paid offensive players?

1. QB

2. RT

3. WR

4. TE

5. WR

So, uh, four of the top-five are pass-catchers or the guy throwing them the ball. I don’t think you’re making the point that you think you’re making.

All a matter of perspective.

You see what you want to see.

I see a team that has been competing, and has an established offense and defense..

Which we're not. Let's go ahead and skip building a team to we can reach in the draft and select a pass catcher.

Great perspective.  One which I will never agree with.

That’s fine, just don’t make blanket statements about positional value, then.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
