David Gettis - 33 receptions, 475 yards. if he manages to get 87 yards against the falcons he'll take over Dez Bryant's spot at third in yards receiving among rookies. among rookies with more than 25 receptions, he's second in % of receptions for first downs, right behind tampa bay's Mike Williams. his 88 yard TD is by far the longest among rookies.

Brandon Lafell - 34 receptions, 405 yards. 4th in receptions, 6th in first downs converted among rookies. 5th in yards per game among rookies with more than 25 receptions.

hats off to these guys. both of them have been rotating in and out of the lineup with consistently awful quarterback play and have still managed to post decent numbers.

hurney deserves credit for drafting two wide receivers who will probably produce with the team for years, and Gettis and Lafell deserve credit for busting their asses and producing in a year where few other bright spots could be found.

bottom line: these two are going to look phenomenal with a real quarterback throwing to them.

I was dead wrong about LaFell.....early in the year he dropped some REALLY EASY balls and he still does need to sure up his hands but both of these rookies have been extremely impressive along with Greg Hardy. It will be great to see how they progress next season.....

We're set for a few years at WR, imo.

WR is still a huge need for us, according to the national media though.

We're screwed if Smitty isn't here next year (not that I think he wont be). Neither of these guys is ready to be a #1 yet.....

our offense has been notably horrible, so i almost can't blame them. i had no idea either WR would be so high in that list until i randomly started digging around the rookie stat sheets on NFL.com - i was shocked to see them in the top five.

they've definitely sneaked up to the top of that list... and we've still got one more game to go.

im very pleased. WR has been a notable issue in the past. I just wonder where we'd be had this issued been properly addressed in the 2008 draft.

Clausen would have more consistent targets to throw to........and we'd still have our second round pick.

in 2008 we picked up j-stew and otah, pickups which should have our running game anchored for years if everyone can stay healthy. i'd be more concerned about the 2009 draft/season, that's where you can most accurately say we should've made some moves for a WR.

hopefully now that we've got gettis and lafell it won't matter

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
