Did anybody sucessfully link Joh Fox to the panthers before the season ended? Did anybody even mention him before the interview was public knowledge?

If Luck + Harbaugh doesn't happen, I would be happy with Rivera. I think Jerry will love the guy for a number of reasons. His players love him. He has undoubtedly proven himself as a DC. I just can't figure out why he's been passed up so many times. He might be a terrible interviewee and he certainly isn't a high profile hire but I think he could be a good fit for the organization, especially if Luck isn't available.

I still want Cowher and my wishful thinking is that Jerry would open up the wallet for one guy and one guy only - the man that led the organiztion he envies to six conference champsionship games, a ring, the best record in the NFL while he was coach, etc.

Czarnecki hasn't been a very good source of late. As I recall, he was the one who suggested we should go with rotating quarterbacks (Moore and Clausen).

Ryan's been on the downside of things for a bit. He had the chance (more than one if I recall) to take over the Raiders but they went with Tom Cable instead.

I know it's Davis, but losing out to Tom Cable? Doesn't speak well, does it? :sosp:

If I remember correctly, there were some rumors at the time that the players didn't like the idea of him as a head coach.

Yeah, writers have to write something, and speculation from way outside the inner circle sells papers. This was written for Cleveland audiences and not us.
