Is the QB the only thing anyone cares about anymore?

Am I the only person here that remembers us getting to a superbowl with a scrub QB that played in Europe and being 3 points away from winning it all? Seriously, doesn't anybody care about having an all around solid team anymore? I'd rather have a great supporting cast that can make the QB's job easier no matter who's back there.

I'd rather have a dominating O-line like we did in the past, a dominating run game and a defense that can stop opponents. Now I'm not saying I want us to be one dimensional all over again, but I don't want to TRADE one thing for another.

If we do that, then that's exactly what we're going to be. Except this time, it will be reversed. I don't want to go from being the one dimensional Panthers to the one dimensional Chiefs.

It seems like we are still having the same conversations we've been having for the past two years, and almost identical to those of last year, just a different cast. What about the rest of our positions?

pretty sure QB play (and OL injury) is the reason we weren't a solid all around team. Need a QB.

Jake wasn't a scrub 2003-2007. He was an experienced QB who came in during 2003. Up until he had surgery, he was in the top half of QBs in the NFL.

QB driven league, look around...for the 1000th time

this

look at all the playoff teams at the moment.. only three teams have a QB rating under 90:

Jets - Sanchez

Seahawks - Hasselbeck

Bears - Cutler

I'm sure if you went back and looked at recent super bowls, you'd have a difficult time finding a team that didn't have a franchise QB.

2 teams the rely on the defense, and one team that is 7-9. nuff said

and both Sanchez and Cutler are basically their franchises quarterbacks, even if they aren't literally "franchise quarterbacks."

yup

I'm tired of having to win in spite of our quarterback. Would be nice to let the quarterback win games for once lol.

For me it is very very simple! A great all around team a decent QB can get you to a superbowl on a good year, and if everything falls your way with some luck. However with that same decent QB you will not be consistently good and relevant in this league year in and year out.

With a Great QB you can be consistently good year in and year out and almost always be relevant in the NFL. Also it’s easier to find pieces and get people to come play with you with a great QB.

I don’t want to just have one good run, like we did, or the seahawks… I want to consistently be relevant and in play like the Colts, Patriots, Steelers ect. That is why my #1 focus is Franchise QB.

While I agree in principal with the OP. You can't pass up on a guy like Luck. He can be very very special.

also, our OL has been good of recent when healthy. Our RB's are awesome.

QB and WR need to most work on Offense.

Overall between draft and free agency I would like to see us add.

QB ( Luck is preferable)

2 WR

2 DT's

2 CB's

1 S

I'm not advocating passing on Luck. I have said before, we almost have to take him if he declares but boy.....5 draft picks in two years on QB's! He BETTER be worth it.

I just don't see anyone talking about anything other than Luck. I understand he's the hottest topic at the moment, but really, I saw a lot of other problems this past year that should be getting just as much attention.

And this leage is not just a QB-driven league. It's a QB-driven league with great weapons surrounding him.
