Have you ever seen that True Life: Im Deaf?

There is a kid on there who gets the implant and hes like 16. When they turn it on, hes sitting next to his mom and she says his name and its the first time hes ever heard his name said out loud and he loves it.

He starts banging on the table and making sounds just b/c he can hear them, its SO cool.

Can these implants fix all deaf people?

I wish but unfortunately no, my lil bro has been deaf since birth and my folks have looked into every possible option on getting him to hear but so far no luck. Buttt with new technologies developing hopefully something comes out that can help him.

This video is awesome though, actually made me a bit watery eyed.

Do you know sign language?

<------big language nerd, it has always interested me. I used to wait tables with a girl who was going to school to be a deaf teacher and knew how to sign.

Sadly, no.

It depends on the individual deficiency locus.

Every once in a while I get reminded of why human beings don't completely suck.

Some cleft lip/palate repairs come to mind.

A mother seeing her son/daughter minus facial deformity for the first time is not as dramatic as these youtubes, since postop time is sometimes not esthetically pretty and often stressful. A few weeks later and it is Niagra falls though.

Hopefully he will be able to hear in the near future. Sight and Sound are things no one should have to live without.

      I could be waaaaaaay off about Kon. I do fault myself into, to borrow a NFL phrase heavily "RAS" nerd on players, too much. There are PLENTY of athletic freak shows that are playing overseas(or Amazon delivery) cause they never figured out NBA ball. I can easily miss seeing the talent. Plus did he only have 2 dunks on the season??(is that for real??) I didn't watch over a few hours of duke, but not one point did I think "That Kon guy is a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft". IMO I still foresee Ball bringing the ball up, doing his weak isolation game and never even looking for Kon. That's his best trait according to everyone, shooting right? I do not see ball, bridges, miller or even williams making the extra pass to Kon for him to shoot a 3.  Then defense-wise, Im not ready to type the amount of questions I foresee in his ability for guarding NBA SGs or bench SFs for that matter. Not that NBA players care to defend, but still..... I just feel he's a bad fit for the current hornets, trades are taking place tho... Liam to me is a decent comp for Kon and he fell some, but was a 29 overall pick. Still around 13-21 was the good solid range for Liam and I thought the same for Kon. This is just a classic case of I need to see it. It add to this, Kon is like garlic. Ball is like sugar and Miller is like flour. Mix it together and chef Lee is not going to get me to eat that dish..... Honestly I don't know why Im this vocal about Kon. In past years I would be patience and not post and see what the kid has. The other side, insert classic white boy terms here- _____, ______, _______< etc >. Hornets do desperately need them. His crafty back door cuts, his willingness to stay a extra 2 hours to refine lees plays, keep playing with bruised limbs. I heard from many reports he's mentally tough and hornets by all gods need that. God they are such pussys.  I hope Im wrong and if so, I will give Kon his just props.
