Clausen will develop into a fine qb next season.

I think people that defend Clausen by saying the coaches didn't develop him or give him good plays weren't paying attention to the play calling (or have no clue).

In Clausen's early starts they had to dumb down the playbook for Clausen because he was so terrible. In the bears game he refused to look at more than one receiver to the extent that I think the coaching staff told him to pick a target or bail out simply because he was too slow.

As they opened up the playbook later in the did not respond at all. Maybe some of you are seeing weak screen pass after weak screen pass but many of these were simply 3rd and 4th options. Basically the had to treat him like a retard. He was supposed to be NFL ready and it turns out we got that one wrong

Jimmy is still slow footed, can't make easy passes, has bad throwing mechanics and doesn't seem to have it mentally.

The play calling is fine.

Seems that everyone forgets that Matt Moore played significantly better than Clausen, even in his worse games, he still managed to move the ball down the field. Out of sight, out of mind I suppose. Despite the picks the offense was actually more successful overall than when Jimmy ran it. Yes hes a rookie, yadda yadda, we expect rookies to suck, yadda yadda, he had no help, yadda yadda. Clausen and Moore were both terrible, but if I had to choose the choice is so obvious its almost funny.

Just the fact that Matt Moore had this game this year makes me want to keep him over Clausen

28/41 308 2TD 1 INT

Doubt he was using significantly different plays than Clausen

Don't forget the previous year when he had 4 solid games

lol 2 bad games rose covered glasses much? I don't even want to think about how Clausen "graded out" if Moore had only 2 bad games.

If we keep Moore that's fine, and hell, he showed more than Clausen, but holy hell let's not think about him as someone to build around right now.

how sad is it that this is the measure of success around here?

It's sad but it also shows that given the right tools and support, Matt can perform like a solid all around QB.

When I mentioned he showed this in 2009 winning 4 of the last 5 most people said it was just because he had no pressure. Well I hardly doubt Jimmy had any more pressure in his last 5 games and he didn't perform nearly as well.

Yes Matt had a better team around him in 09, no doubt, but Jimmy's actual playing was evident. I'm not saying Jimmy should have won 4 out of 5 but he didn't LOOK like an NFL QB this entire season. He made more mistakes that were mainly his own doing.

Matt's accuracy and ability to read the field and find the open man>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jimmy's.

Under Fox the QB is supposed to manage the game and get the stats when possible. And take advantage of the opportunity when it is presented. Jake had tons of 100-200 yd games in 2008. But he had a few great games and his accuracy won games. 87 QB rating

same in '05 and '03 superbowl year.

Fox was not an offensive coach and wasn't expecting the QB to take the game over like manning or brady.

Jake did fine, Moore did fine except for his brain fart the beginning of the season

Clausen looks like he's in the special Olympics
