If your kid goes into the 3rd grade being able to read well and knows all of his multiplication tables and can do long division, then you think that he is a smart kid. By the end of the school year if your kid is no longer reading as well and is struggling to do his math then do you think that your kid suddenly became an idiot or that the teacher is not doing thier job?

Im sorta on the fence about Clausen next year. Part of me feels that he will suck and will finally silent the "he's a rookie" crowd. Another part of me thinks he "gets us by" to 6-10 and probably someone like Matt Barkley in 2012.

It's not just "he's a rookie", it's more about "He was a rookie with possibly the worst coaching staff in the league when it came to offense".

Hopefully the new regime can develop him. Get him to where he's comfortable out there. When he's comfortable and not antsy, I think he can be extremely accurate. It's going to take some time to find out one way or the other.

what I was least impressed w/ is he had no attitiude and no emotion. I could handle him sucking.....if he gave us some other traits to put some hope into.

they did a mic'd up w/ The Golden Calf of Bristol (you can watch it on you tube).....you don't see that stuff The Golden Calf of Bristol displayed w/ Clausen. If Clausen would have shown a hint of some leadership or command maybe we could have a glimmer of hope despite his horrific play.

Still. The Golden Calf of Bristol didn't have a Steve Smith in his face throughout the season. We don't know how he'd have done if he had a Smith breathing down his neck, probably worrying about getting the hell beat out of him if he looked at him wrong.

You seem to be throwing "Jock Sniffer" around a lot. I take it you don't know what it means. Otherwise you'd know, that pointing out the flaw in comparing the traits of two rookie qbs in two completely different situations, doesn't exactly warrant "Fan boy" or "Jock Sniffer".

If you think that Clausen got a fair shake this year and had any type of instruction, coaching, or play calling schemed towards a rookie QB then you are an idiot.
