Schefter's facts are wrong

This all assumes of course that Luck could be anything like Peyton Manning, which is a pretty big assumption.

It's important to note that Scouts, Inc. gave Leinart the same grade the year he came out as they have given Luck this year... not saying Luck won't be great, but it's far from a sure thing no matter how good he looks right now.

Lol @ everyone on a message board who hates every "expert" Schefter, Florio, Glazer, Mortenson all have good well connected sources...people change their minds and are also allowed to make mistakes.

But not on the Huddle. You are on a message board... Schefter is one of the best insiders in my opinion. He was better on NFL network but still one of the best.

U need to turn your rage to the Charlotte beat writers who all get their info from Schefter, Florio, Glazer. they seem to get better insight that Darrian Gant, and the local poop paper.

#1 QBs fall into 3 categories. Roughly equal i would say but I'm not going to count it up

Bust - Jamarcus. Carr

Good - Stafford Plamer

HOF franchise QB - Manning, Aikman, Vick, Bledsoe

If your team has a huge hole at QB and a chance to fill that hole with category #3 above it is huge. Luck not declaring is a massive blow to the panthers.

just checked, jawalrus had a 98 overall grade just like luck. And Alex Smith. and Matt Leinert...

VY and brady quinn got 97s

Scouts inc gave clausen an 89 but kiper gave him a 93 or so while josh freeman got an 85

I've come to the conclusion that Kiper is a retard and can't evaluate QBs worth a poo.

I will now base my opinions on QBs by my own observations/feelings because I have a better track record of picking these guys than he does.

It would have been interesting if Manning had left UT in 97.

He goes to the Parcells/Belichick Jets.

Parcells might have coached a little longer, and Belichick might not have ever left the Jets for New England.

What in the world would have ever become of Tom Brady? There is no doubt he has talent, but Brady+Belichick is far better than Brady+(Any other coach), and Manning+Belichick would be a deadly combination.

Heck Meshawn Johnson might even be the hall of fame receiver his own mind thinks he already is.

    • Agreed.  Unless a DE is a Julius Peppers type, it takes a couple of years to really develope.  I am hoping we can get one to go with Prince and Scourton.  Or another Interior Dlineman might work as well.
    • Great work Dan. This is the first time in a long time heading into day 1 of the draft that I don’t care which way we go.
    • I don't think it's about Bryce's ego. I think it's about Tepper's. Bryce was Tepper's draft pick. Everything that's been done has been to protect the image.  New HC with a shiny contract fired after he loses interest immediately after he supposedly drafted his guy. He can't make an offense for him because he's the QB that fits his style of offense. Bryce's rookie season is one of the worst in history. It was obvious he wasn't ready. He was named starter without any real camp competition. No real preseason reps. Coach keeps playing him despite terrible play.  A new coach and GM are hired on the condition that Bryce is the guy. No searching for a new QB. It's Bryce or else.  Bryce is benched year 2 for multiple games, replaced by Dalton who stunk it up proving he's washed up, then Bryce comes back in after Dalton injures his thumb and finishes the season. Dalton's contract is up, plenty of younger, higher upside FAs available. Dalton is brought back 2 years guaranteed as a "mentor". Jack Plummer, so bad in 24', brought back to camp in 25' and lo and behold, he's still terrible and has no business being on a field.  Other QBs brought in, the most recognizable being Hooker. All those brought in so bad even the PS can't hold them.  And now, after 3 years of bottom tier QB performance, with Dan saying we need to improve our QB room, we bring in a QB that's not passed for over 2500 yards in either of his 2 seasons as a starter, before he's benched and sent to the life of being a backup.  The common denominator in all of this is there's never been any real competition here, even when it was justified. After last year, it's debatable if he's starting QB material. Good moments and horrific moments. From one minute to the next, you don't know what you're gonna get.  So if you ask yourself why some of us feel bringing in KP is a joke, it's because it looks how it's always looked. That everything being done is to prove that David Tepper was right when he made the choice to draft Bryce and everything done since has been to protect that decision. Bringing in another QB with even the potential to challenge Bryce was always out of the question.
