I reviewed myself today and it was excellent ... gave myself a raise but then rescinded it when I caught myself on the huddle.

I'm working from home now. Ive learned to multi task The Huddle, working and listening to XM all at the same time.

First time I have ever gotten a does not meet or better review since I have been at Super Mega Multi National Bank of USA(4 years)

Then the jackleg writes me up and says I can't leave our area for the 1st quarter but quickly added, "I'm not trying to keep you here."

He goes on about how intelligent I am and upper mgt knows about me but can't understand why my #'s were not good 4th qrtr. But the kick in the balls was him going on and on about how I could do his job and that maybe I'm beyond my current role. :boxing_smiley:

Worlds worst motivator.

So. Comedy, bring it.

This isn't funny, but just goes to show you how bosses screw you.

I was home visiting my parents over Memorial Day back in 1990. My Father passed away the Friday before Memorial Day. I called my boss and told her that My Father had passed away and that I would be taking the next week off as additional vacation time. (It's up to the manager, but typically IBM gave you a week off as personal time in the case of death of a loved one.) When I returned, I marked it down as vacation time, but she changed it as management directed time off.

Then when it came time for my review, she rated me a 4 due to excessive absenteeism! I had never missed a day in over a year when she was manager. When I refused to sign the appraisal Upper mgmt stepped in and "recommended" that I sign it. I did write on there that I didn't agree with the appraisal and signed it. After about 2 months, instead of firing me, IBM promoted her to a new position!

Pstall, you should have gone "Mr. Hand" on this guy. Not Mr. Hand from Fast Times, but you should have put your hand up and made it say the things you were afraid to say.

Mr. Hand: "Mr. Boss thinks he's so clever, doesn't he?"

You: "Shut up, Mr. Hand."

Mr. Hand: "Mr. Boss is trying to tell you to quit your job cause he's too much of a pussy to fire you."

You: "Mr. Hand, one more word..."

Boss: "That'll be about enough..."

You: "I'm sorry..."

Boss: "I'm not talking to you, damn it. I'm talking to that wiseass hand of yours."

You've given out some pretty good advice on this board, and I for one think he is not correct on his assessment. He is probably a micro manager boss, possibly not having had that position for very long. He must make himself feel better by trying to make someone else feel inferior. Hold your head up.
