John Fox press conference

During his press conference, someone asked if he would stay a 3-4 or change to a 4-3. He said he has experience in both, and said they have not made a decision yet. He will go through the draft and FA and get players, and then AFTER that they will see what system to use.

IMO, this shows one of his main flaws, the whole putting square pegs into a circle hole. Instead of signing/drafting players that will fit the system he wants to run, he is going to try and make players fit, and that leads to problems.

Also, they gave him alot of trouble about "3 yards and a cloud of dust", and boring football.

Looks like the media did their research! lol

I was watching it as well... a few things came across my attention.. one being I'm glad he got another shot and think he'll do well there. I'm not sold he'll have the same success as he did here at Carolina.. I think he had a better team here then he does in Denver..

You have to keep in mind that what he was saying was less about fitting square pegs in round holes than saying just the right thing to keep the players happy while they figure out where they go from here..

They could bring in a 3-4 DC.. at the end of the day, like he explained, whether 34 or 43 it's all about filling spaces on the field..

he doesn't want to say he's switching to a 43 and risk losing the locker room... he danced around the Champ Bailey question as well..

"The quarterback situation is better than the one -- some of the ones -- that I've been at."

Owned.

Damn. He played us, joke would be on him if Clausen turns into a good QB. And he had the option to start BSP the rest of the Season, did he? No.

“The quarterback situation is better than the one — some of the ones — that I’ve been at,” Fox said. (Translation: Thanks Jimmy Clausen!)

Fox also likes the wideouts: “This may be as good a corps as I’ve been with,” Fox said. (Translation: Thanks Dwayne Jarrett!)

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
