John Fox press conference

Good for Fox

if my team was depleted on purpose by the owner, the GM was a tool, and they left me to try to make their crap look respectable on the field... I'd say the same stuff

and anyone who says that they wouldn't talk junk about their last job under similar situations is a liar... most people are vengeful and not half as magnanimous as they try to act

Other than those subtle slips (and I do not think they were intentional), Fox has actually tried to keep to the high ground. Those slips certainly give us an idea of how he really feels, but he's not come right out and been negative or anything.

Looks like he's just trying to put it past him and move on.

Still... Freudian slips FTW!

and people wonder why i don't like fox, or wonder how you could hate him

he passive aggressively shirks blame for some of the poo that he is partly responsible for

here's a question for you... do you think the front office did everything they could to put our team/coach in the best position last year to win a Superbowl?

if you have a job to do and your company gives you the bare minimum to do it, then you get let go for failure to perform.. I seriously doubt you would go around singing that company's praises

Let me ask you a question, since John Fox is off the hook for 2010, what is your excuse for him for the 2009 season?

One of the 1st things you're taught about being a professional-You don't trash former employers. It's unprofessional. It's even worse to do it in public.

People that are making excuses and laughing at his shots at the QB & WR situations need to remember up until this year, Fox had to sign off on all personnel moves. To sit there and take shots at the fact that this team never developed a young QB or #2 WR opposite Steve Smith on your watch as though you weren't directly responsible for NOT coaching them up is a dick move. I lost a lot of respect for Fox over that.

"Be the same guy" huh? Guess that only lasts till your next stop.

During his press conference, someone asked if he would stay a 3-4 or change to a 4-3. He said he has experience in both, and said they have not made a decision yet. He will go through the draft and FA and get players, and then AFTER that they will see what system to use.

IMO, this shows one of his main flaws, the whole putting square pegs into a circle hole. Instead of signing/drafting players that will fit the system he wants to run, he is going to try and make players fit, and that leads to problems.

Also, they gave him alot of trouble about "3 yards and a cloud of dust", and boring football.

Looks like the media did their research! lol

See this is why Rivera is the man. You choose your SYSTEM first, then draft/ sign FA's to fit the system. Fox is a moron.

John Fox is not the first coach to leave Charlotte with a bad taste in his mouth.

And Julius Peppers was not the first player to take a couple parting shots as well.

My question to the board is this:

Now that we've witnessed coaches leaving and making some not so complimentary comments and we've heard the same from several players, at what point do you start to believe that where's there's smoke, there is probably fire? Maybe if you heard it once or twice, but seriously, we've been hearing it for a few years from players after they've left and the Fox coaching staff is not the first, either.

You can say what you will about Fox. I did not agree with his system at all times, but all BS aside, he won more than he lost in the regular season and in the Playoffs. That is a fact. Up until this year, we were not a bad team. Why were we bad this year? Well thank the Governor of the CBA for that.
