No I don't see the connection in wanting a franchise QB and Matt Moore. Who has proven in play as well as interviews that he will poo in his pants when expectation are put on him.

Plus the fact that Rivera mention the QB situation in his PC and Matt Moore name never came up. So excuse me for not seeing a connection between this new Panther regime and Matt Moore.

If your Matt's agent maybe you should try another teams MB. They won't know how much of a bed wetter he is.

LOL you missed the whole point, again. I don't even know why I waste my time with you. Everything you post screams, "I'm 13 and just started watching football!" from your sentence structure to your actual thoughts.

I won't waste my time anymore.

lol a coach will not name a player that will not be in contract the next year. I would gladly have moore competing for the job again or as a backup. There arent many "elite" Qbs to choose from.

Oh and I am also not a big supporter of moore either but I wouldnt mind him on our team.

Are you still crying about Moore?

What're you gonna do when's backing up somebody in San Fran next season?

Fail. No one is crying. Just making observations about previous QBs Chud has made successful and the type of QB they are. They were in the mold of Moore not Clausen. Just an observation. If you and KKL and others can't see that and only want to bash me or Moore that's fine, I'm not the one looking silly. More people realize that Moore would be of value to this team than those who think he won't.

not convinced they'll bring back Moore... but it is still possible. Wouldn't be the worst decision either if his recovery goes well, as long as he isn't the only new QB they bring in. IMO, we need a good amount of competition this camp.

If Moore can win the job there, good. Same for Clausen and whoever else gets brought in (or, hell, Pike :P lol)

The big question on Moore right now is will he even be ready? He won't even be able to throw until late spring (May, I believe), and that's just to get started. How long will it be until he is able to go 100%, and will his arm even respond well once he does start throwing?

Of all players, he's probably the happiest about the lockout since that will keep teams (Panthers?) from filling the prime QB spots before he can even begin throwing. For him, a mid-summer agreement would buy him some time and hopefully allow him to show he'll be healthy.

I think he'll be able to throw in March

That's key for him. The sooner he can get back to 100%, the better chance he has.

He'll be fine either way. His injury is the least severe of the shoulder injuries so his recovery won't be an issue.

If he doesn't sign here, I have no doubt he'll be on an NFL roster next year. There are a lot of teams with QB needs and not much out there.

Truthfully, if he wasn't here this year and he was entering the FA class, people would be screaming for him. Grass is always greener I guess.

    • Scourton's interviews are telling to me that it's only a matter of time before he could really put it together.  His limitation tool-wise that I see is in his bend, but at the leaner size, it looks like it wasn't a problem at Purdue.   He has a good moveset and reads leverages very well (vet level well).  Plays both the speed/quickness (great change of direction) and has a power game with good hand usage.  Moves from what I've seen in my digs: I'm seeing cross-chop, fake crossers into bull, bull rush, spin (his preferred move of choice), hand shuck.  He's not unrefined by any means.   If he can do 2 things---I'm feeling confident from seeing his interviews that we have a real dude on our hands: 1) Diversifying his moveset/how it's deployed - Over-reliant on some, but again, he has a growing palette.  And is already great with his hands so things are in-place to coach up. 2) Developing a counter moveset and starting to play the chess game with an OT - He's very good at reading leverage, knowing when to change things up during a play.  But NFL coaching should start to teach him how to really create a plan based on an opponent.  What to throw at a guy first, how to confuse with fakes/counters, etc.  How to play against these tackles as a game progresses.   Overall, he has some things that give me serious optimism: Run Defense, speed moves, power moves, he's super young and has the size/length.  When you really spell it all out, I think we should get excited.  Temper expectations from a stat sheet standpoint, but he should be able to go in and make an impact.
