O-Line Coach Search Update

Yeah, this guy is the one I'm most skeptical of. 40 sacks isn't something that sits well with me personally. Gotta read some more on him. Could be a steal though.....

read some more on him and tell me how awesome you think he is because

One thing is offensive line has done exceptionally well since he's been around, is set-up the screen pass perfectly. He was the guy that helped Marshall Faulk get all of those outrageous receiving yards under him, and then Ray Rice came along and put up huge receiving numbers out of the backfield.

That, plus names that start with 'M'

He's not one I'd have expected to be available.

i also like how the one assistant/coordinator we did pick up and steal from another team people had to go back to before his last job and rail him for being fired from cleveland

newsflash, at some point in your coaching career, you're likely to get fired

Screen passes and good TE play are really great for young developing QB's

...now if we could only have Green Bay fire their QB coach next week...

Exactamundo. Would love to get Tom Clements from GB. We may have to wait a few weeks, though. In other related news, its been reported that the Panthers are in the process of interviewing Jags QB coach Mike Shula. Here's the link:

looks like some even-minded folks on this ravens message board (knew somebody was going to post the link)

http://boards.baltimoreravens.com/topic/33141-john-matsko-fired/

partly thinking he's a scapegoat for inconsistent line play, partly thinking he's the scapegoat for too many injuries, partly thinking it's a move to serve notice to cam cameron.

cameron is a real nfl vet, can't see firing one of his coaches to serve notice to the guy. might just be one of those things?

Bottom line he is a scapegoat and its BS. The guy is a damn good OL coach and with the talent we have on the OL he will make them even better.

Or find the next Aaron Rodgers. That guy makes his O-line look much better than they really are. No coach is going to duplicate what Rodgers does unless they can find a QB with as much talent as he has.

I will be jacked if we get this guy. I am really shocked a GM like Ozzie Newsome that knows better would let this guy get the boot. Why did the Ravens really lose this year? They keep old farts past their prime on Defense and Flacco and company turned the ball over too much. But hey, that is the OL coaches fault....

    • 339. WR Moose Muhammad III, Texas A&M Muhammad, the son of former NFL wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad II, is adept at using his body to keep coverage defenders away from the ball. He generated a 119.8 passer rating when targeted in 2024, ranking 25th in the draft class. 255. WR Kobe Hudson, UCF Hudson brings point guard-like movement to the receiver position and makes for a fun watch due to his short-area quickness. But his limited long speed and questionable catch rate likely make him a mid-round projection. 183. DI Jared Harrison-Hunte, SMU Harrison-Hunte is an intriguing prospect to develop, considering he has the frame to fill out and flashes very good athleticism (4.86-second 40-yard dash, 1.69-second 10-yard split). He needs to improve his pad level, but he uses his athleticism effectively to defeat blocks at the line of scrimmage, posting 44 pressures with eight sacks in 2024. 171. G Luke Kandra, Cincinnati Kandra's athleticism and measured approach to the game give him the floor of a solid zone scheme backup and an average starter's ceiling. The end result will depend on his ability to play with better pad level and flexibility.
