Carson Palmer scenarios

28 people out of 44 are saying stick with Jimmy?

/headdesk

If he showed ANYTHING at all this season, I'd agree. But he's not NFL starter stock people! FFS....

The only reason people are choosing to stick with Pickles is because the other options are just that bad.

how is Palmer just as bad as sticking w/ Clausen?

I'm not saying that Palmer=Clausen, because we all know that Palmer brings a lot to the table that Clausen doesn't (ie. experience, leadership, etc). But given Palmers age, contract and recent performance history, we would be better off just sticking with Clausen then giving up any of the above trade scenarios for Palmer.

If we could get Palmer for say a 6th rounder or so, then I say go for it. Any more compensation than that is too much imo.

well, he isn't worth his current deal. If Carolina can rework a new deal w/ him.....he would 100% be worth it if he was obtained by reasonable means. Palmer could start. If Rivera brings in more than just one body to compete.....I have a hard time believing Jimmy could beat anyone other than Pike.

Palmer wont be coming here. Carolina wants a young qb to grow with their young receiver corp. They dont want to have to replace qbs, every couple of years. They want a dynasty, to compete in the playoffs year after year.

well, if they stick w/ Clausen this year.....they likely have to replace him the next year. Then they are going to be forced to draft a kid and start him......and there may not be a kid that can handle that.

at this point, they can rule out the Kurt Warner/Delhomme/etc. search either. Older guys that can come in and lead.

Clausen and a 4th plus they give us a 5th or 6th and it sounds good, but I wonder if they would take Pike and a 4th?

Just don't get your hopes up though, he wants to play on the west coast and my guess is seattle to be back with carroll or san francisco because they have a worse qb situation then us and would do anything to get a qb of that caliber and not have to use a 1st round pick on one

    • I agree with OP notion, QBs always get credited for game winning drives even if they do minimal. Just last night Caleb got credited for a GE drive when they basically ran the ball the whole drive and only had to go 36 yards.   And there are drives where Bryce could of had a game winning drive if not for a Legette drop vs Philly or a Chubba fumble vs Tampa
    • You are actually, genuinely comparing Bryce to Jimmy fuging Pickles? Jimmy accounted for 3 touchdowns in his 10 starts in 2010. In Bryce’s 10 games post benching last year, he accounted for 20 touchdowns. Jimmy threw three touchdowns in 2010. Three. Bryce has thrown 10 touchdowns through 6 games. He is currently on track to throw for 3300 yards, 28 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Wtf are we even talking about anymore. I mean seriously
    • Tepper? The guy that directs the coaches towards goals that he set for them… that guy. He is the one.    I don’t think he ever was going to be expelled from class, they had him come in for garbage time maybe the 2nd week he was benched.  I will say this. People said he wasn’t under pressure the last part of the year when he did better, but he was fighting for his career and that’s pressure. And he saved his career too. I don’t reject him for those kinds of things I reject him for the physical things. I have always brought it down to he has slim margin for error and has to be perfect. People with the tool set have a little fatter margin for error. Why make it harder on yourself? Got nothing to do with hating him.  I am no statistician but game that margin thing out a lot and see how that works.
