saw this from draftnik scott wright who has been keeping up with who is talking to whom.

guys we have supposedly been talking to so far:

Patrick Peterson (CB stud extrordinaire)

Pernell McPhee (big hoss of a DE from Miss St.)

Dane Sanzanbacher (small and slow slot WR from Ohio St)

Rashad Carmichael (small but really quick and talented CB from Va Tech)

Lee Ziemba (big decent OT, but not so great OG from Auburn)

I'll keep you guys posted if I see anything of interest this week.

Not many things of interest to report for today, other than some random feller asking me to take a picture of him and Bernie Kosar (I obliged) and that Joe Person doesn't look nearly as geeky in person as he does in his Observer picture.

Jeff Davidson was there today as well in his new purple, looking just as clueless as ever.

Patrick Peterson- Stud

Pernell McPhee- Pretty good DE. Wouldnt mind him but rather gamble on Romeus.

Dane Sanzanbacher- Do not want. Stay away.

Rashad Carmichael- I like him. Very good CB to take mid-late.

Lee Ziemba- Would be a good option from 5th round on. Can be servicable as a backup T and emergency fill in at other spots.

I think the staff is off to a good start so far. Still pissed we don't have our 2nd.

interesting comment about Gabbert... Not saying we should consider taking him, but I thought it was interesting considering what some people feel about him.

Some fans aren’t sold on Gabbert and feel that he has come out of nowhere to be talked about as a potential Top 10 overall pick. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth... In fact, before he opted to come out early and Stanford’s Andrew Luck chose to stay in school it was Gabbert who was the early favorite to be the #1 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

An extra year in college can really do a lot for a player, especially if he's a qb. Gabbert has the tools to become a very good QB, but I just don't know if he's ready. IMO he's not worth a top 5 pick but someone will probably reach for him.

true enough, but it just goes to show he isn't coming from nowhere like some people have thought.

if the hype about his skills is legit he's worth a top 5. it's not so easy to tell though based on film, so.

16 TD's and 9 picks are pretty average numbers. Granted, they did win quite a few games but those aren't ideal numbers for a QB that i'm taking top 5. He's a very talented player, but many thought the same thing about Jake Locker last year.
