Brian Baker analyzes the D-Line

Mr. Scot

Bake is prob a future head coach....maybe not at this level...but at some level, and he is going to be a good one. CJ should of have 15 sacks as much as his ass was on the field.

Aside from that, he told us what we already know.

CJ only played around 85% of the possible snaps...

Compare that to Pep who used to play virtually every one...

Sorry just wanted to address this post again.

Told us what we already knew?

Did you know that Brown lost some of his explosiveness mid way through the season? Did you know that Neblett needs to control his weight? Did you know that Brayton got pissy because he was put into competition for his job? Did you know that Hardy needs to work harder off the field? Did you know that they still consider Taylor a viable option?

My biggest beef with the CBA issue and how the Panthers proceeded was the not signing and locking up any of their core youth. Past season's guys like CJ Johnson would have gotten a contract extension during the season. Now the Panthers risk losing him and some others.

DL coach Baker contemplating return to NFL with Cowboys

Word from Gantt is that he'll be making a decision by this Tuesday.

Pretty good breakdown. He doesn't pull any punches. Didn't like how he described Brayton's reaction.

I liked how he described Brayton's reaction. I sort of figured Brayton was like that. I feel we're no longer in need of Tyler's services. I was happy when I read about CJ's reaction. He's very humble, and has a very good work ethic; I like that. I really hope we're able to lock him up longterm. He's going to be a star

Aggie you are right about Charles johnson, the way he handled that with Brayton should show us how this young man carrie's himself on and off the field. I did'nt know about that until recently, but we don't need player's that react like Brayton. We need player's like Charles J. Calm, Cool, Confident! Get Charles Johnson a long term deal Marty!

I think Brown will be fine he just needs to add a bit more muscle. He's had some unfair pressure on him I think. It's not his fault that Hurney traded a 1st for him. He was likely a 3rd round pick but I think Hurney sees what his future value could be to us and I think it will work out.

I thought CJ handled the Brayton situation quite well. Hardy will the x factor I think. If he can make a sophomore leap we will be in great shape.

    • One thing I didn’t consider is how thin this draft is at quarterback. That’s going to drive up the market for backups and borderline starters like Willis, Jones, and Jameis Winston. Because of that, we’ll most likely be priced out of the market for this tier of backup.
    • We've already beat the #1 seed twice, why not one more? (Packers and Rams were both #1 seed at the time we played)
    • My determination has come down to this. Based on recent QB history, has Bryce's improvement warranted 50m per season? Lamar is the only original team QB to play on his 5th year. The others took major deals at the end of the 3rd, before or just after the option was signed. Chances are, we're getting asked for the same.  I haven't rooted for Bryce to fail. I've rooted for him to succeed so big that them signing that extension would give me no worries about our future at QB at all. We haven't seen that level of play consistently that this year. We haven't seen it in the past 6 games.  We're about to be at a threshold with Bryce and I worry about what this front office will do. We have a history of bad decision making and Morgan has been part of that group making those decisions. I don't want Carolina in the same boat Arizona and Miami are right now. It has nothing to with being right. It has to do with wanting to win for more than a single season. We've never had back to back winning seasons. Faith in their abilities is not warranted at this point.
