"If scouts saw this they'd have been slobbering," added Dilfer, who called Newton a "dynamic athlete" and "incredibly impressive." Dilfer praised Newton's refinement, accuracy, and arm strength while proclaiming the "sky is the limit." - Dilfer per PFT

“I really didn’t need to see the workout, nor do I need to hear about the workout. …“To me, there are two issues with this kid,” said Mayock. “Issue number one is he came out of a shotgun (offense), and if you watch the tape it’s basically a very simple offense. … And secondly, most importantly, when you get to a certain skill level in the NFL, which this kid certainly has, at the quarterback position, what kind of kid is he? “Is he going to be the first guy in the building? Is he a gym rat? Is he football smart?”

I'd say his projections aren't flawless. He wasn't way off on some recently, but just something to consider.

Overall, Newton's workout rates at an A- in my mind, and scouts will be impressed when they see him unveil his skills at the NFL Scouting Combine later this month. If he performs to this level during the combine workout, he will force many teams selecting within the top 10 of the draft to consider him as a franchise quarterback prospect. - Bucky Brooks

I made this thread for the those who want to discuss the analysts perspective on the workout. Not for Cam Hate/Love & race BS like my other thread turned out to be. :toetap05:

What I took from it was that he is a fast learner, thats something you can not teach. I think every side has there points on this one and we need not make assumptions at this point but to say Cam is not a student of the game would be silly. He is working his butt off right now to prove to everyone he should be the 1st pick in the draft.

What has Fairly done? Had a twitter chat...

Has any other QB put himself out there this much? I dont think so...

I'll say I came away from the workout more impressed with him than I was before, but it didn't answer many questions pertaining to whether or not he can play at the NFL level. I was pretty much what I expected to see, and that's all I'll say about it.

Did you get a chance to speak with him?

Just merge it... we don't need two huge threads with the exact same poo.

I'll say the same thing here as I said there...

If you want to argue for Newton and be taken seriously, please do so without making accusations of racism for which you have no basis or evidence.

If you cannot, then you are essentially admitting that you're just not smart enough to debate on facts alone.

    • He had a turnover on all three goals he was on the ice for. Plus he had that god awful delay of game penalty. Like legit his GS actually shows he was the cause of the loss and he was only on the ice for 12 minutes. You remove him from that game and the Canes win or at worst go to OT.  Let's put this in perspective, in 12 minutes he directly led to 3 goals against. In the 48 minutes without him on the ice it was an even-steven 2-2 game and that's disregarding that god awful delay of game penalty that led to goal number 4 of the 5 given up.      I don't see how anyone could say that he didn't directly lead to the loss.
    • reality is the piling on of Frank Reich is just the standard huddle angle we take of putting all blame on someone after the fact.   as I was an OG Frank hater before it was cool to be......now the swing goes too far the other way and people will claim me is as a Frank defender.  Frank Reich was the definition of a .500 middle of the road NFL coach.  He technically was a winning coach and above .500 coming here but he is and was NFL average.  we were the biggest joke in a decade.....because they paired Frank Reich (a dude who was going to do what he does in the NFL) with a dude who couldn't do NFL basics and Frank was forced to play him.  That's not Frank being a loser.  That a bad org around Frank.
    • Toronto is less physical than us, and they took them to 7  I really wish they would have won, because we match up better with them, but we have to deal with what we got  What worries me is Svech trying to take out Bob, that is desperation, that's what you do when you feel like there is no legit options left, it's what I feared, Bob is still in our core groups head, and they are over thinking, over passing Hopefully that changes tonight
