How to Nudge the Team Toward Cam Newton

Catalyst

Recommended Posts

Well, I don't know about anyone else but I've made up my mind. Something caught my eye on twitter during the whole Andrew Luck lovefest and that was the fact that the team store was offering to swap names on old #12 jerseys with "LUCK" for a fee.

Now, call me crazy, but it sure seems like a good way to send a message to the team where it matters most: the wallet. Call up the team store and ask them how much they'd charge to swap "CLAUSEN" for "NEWTON" on your #2 jersey. Doesn't matter if you don't have one, if enough people call it'll send a message that I'm sure will eventually find its way to Morrison/Hurney/J.R. that the fans want Cam Newton to be a Panther.

I doubt it'd make up their mind completely, but it sure as hell can't hurt to let them know how many fans want Newton to be the pick.

The moment the front office drafts someone based on the fans' opinions is the moment I realize all hope is lost. Yeah, lets listen to the folks that do the wave while we are on offense.

This....

Also all of the Fans do not want CAM.... The fan base is actually pretty split on who they want the team to draft.

All the fans didnt want Luck, but this message board seemed to want to portray that picture. The only Panther fans I know that are adamant against Cam Newton post on this message board. I havent met one in real life that is against us drafting a franchise QB. I dont know any Panther fans who think our QB situation is fine enough to the point we can pass on the best QB prospect in decades. All the Panther fans I know in real life want to win. The internet is a seperate beast.

Get out more ffs, I've met plenty, of several races before you even throw that card out that don't think Cam is a franchise QB, and don't want him here....

    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
    • lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
