Chris Harris doesn't seem to think the Manning stuff is personal, so why would our guys?

Nothing personal just business RT @ryanleeredsox @ChrisHarrisNFL What's your reaction to the labour charge against you guys by the league?

Horrible fallacy there mav. Chris Harris doesn't speak for all players. Speaking of which, Frank and Moose were calling Richardson out today on their show. Garcia hardly ever does that and that was the first time I'd heard Moose EVER say a negative word about Jerry Richardson. So players aren't monoliths.

Exactly.

This is big business...if the players are going to get their feelings hurt because someone on the other side "disrespected them", they have no business sitting at the table trying to negotiate.

If you think this is bad, you have NEVER been part of Corporate negotiations...whether labor, acquisition of businesses, etc... These antics are childs play compared to some of the things that I have been a part of.

Oh okay. so you'd trust two guys not in the biz right now with plenty of reason to talk (gets you a bigger audience the more noise you make) over a guy who not only is still close friends with many guys on this team but has a good reason to be unhappy with the owner?

meh.

The players know this is business and not personal.

Point missed I'm afraid..They will get million dollars contracts from somewhere else im sure, but I dont see JR ponying up to the plate for some of these guys. Really has nothing to do with the comments made to Brees and Manning. More of the comments about not really caring about how valuable players are to an organization.

JR has made himself look like a huge jackass these last few months. If I was an elite player and had plenty of offers, I would probably pass on one from a person like JR.

Other than overpaying for players, there is not ONE other reason why players would want to come here. The team sucks, the owner and general manager are among the worst in the league, we have no quarterback, no winning tradition. Ron Rivera has his work cut out for him and Jerry Richardson isn't making things any easier.

The only way we're going to get a free agent that another team wants is if we vastly overpay for that player. Congrats Jerry, you f'ing old-ass idiot.

My point exactly.

    • What I love and hate about this team is it’s more filled with potential breakout players than ever before. JT, XL, Coker, Smith-Wade, Ikem, Trevin… and even Bryce are all guys I could legitimately see taking the next step. But the problem with having so many of those guys is that team success somewhat relies on them taking that step, and some are bound not to. That being said, I’m cautiously optimistic given our softer schedule, the way the offense clicked late last year, and the direction we finally have at GM, coach, and QB. Could see us as a sneaky playoff team.
    • Me, signing up for FanDuel Network, and then canceling FanDuel Network:
    • Smith-Wade for me. He has the path to some decent hefty snaps in Evero’s scheme. He held his own last year and improved as he continued to get snaps— If he makes some strides, could be a very capable nickel.  I agree with Sanders. Bryce had some trust in him that final Falcons game post crazy head-stand.  Bryce looked for him a lot that final game and made some critical catches to get us the W. Seems he’s put in major work so I’m hopeful about him.  Wallace will have an offseason under his belt. I like him a lot, was higher graded than most remember in his draft (I.e Brugler had him LB3/70 overall) but he isn’t as cerebral of an LB as we’re used to. I think he could thrive if we get D captain/film-junky type next to him— because right now that’s Jewell.  Still a bit cautious but love the talent. Rozeboom may snag some playing time from him if he’s still working out the kinks.
