This rookie hungry!!!

This overbearing response to a rookie in his first camp is corny and embarrassing. You'd almost be under the mistaken impression this was a competitive football franchise. Where was our defense ranked again last year? When was the last time we had a winning season?

No. I've seen plenty of freak injuries in my time, and that includes hands, wrists and fingers. He needs to follow the rules period. Canales was absolutely right to send this type of message. There's a time for touching the QB, and training camp is not one of them. Any teammate should easily understand why you shouldn't hit the QB.

He made a play. Nothing happened. He's a rookie. He's learning.

As a fan who is tired of this team embarrassing us and themselves I'm inclined to be more concerned about the starting QB turning the ball over twice already. If we don't protect the football it's going to be another long season.

Chastising the rookie isn't a big deal either. It seems that you just are making much ado about nothing in your zeal to criticize Canales. This is TC. We're going to see all kinds of turnovers and other mistakes. It's not a real concern at this point.

Couple things.

One. I've been pretty vocally pro Canales all things considered.

Two. Protecting the football is absolutely a real concern. The 6 total turnovers (not including another fumble that was luckily recovered) Bryce Young has in the first two games of 2023 and 2024 very much confirm this.

Why are you all worried about his hand?

It's a UCL injury you would be worried about with this, not his fuging hands.

For the love of The Golden Calf of Bristol.

Bryce needs to be rushed early and often. Assuming our offensive line is as good as it should be, it will make game day that much easier.

I already basically said why, but here is some more food for thought:Screenshot_20250723_233411_Chrome.thumb.jpg.8d2a65fadfcdce96d7f6478df1d24405.jpgScreenshot_20250723_233347_Chrome.thumb.jpg.aa231a3de18438439722cb270974dfac.jpg

Yes, a "harmless" strip sack can lead to some bad outcomes, and we don't need unnecessary possibilities of unnecessary problems.

If Bryce had broken a finger you’d be whistling a different tune

Did Prince know he screwed up? Of course he does, but damnit I appreciate the hustle, and I bet the rest of the team does as well. This is going to be a different year.

I wonder if it was getting chippy out there since Dave called practice off early

He's been showing out and is very well ahead of Nick S at this point in the orgs eyes

We desperately need edgy (see what I did there) players. He heard a lot of names get called before his in the draft. I hope he hated every second of that. I want him to try to cleanly beat every one of our o linemen like they owe him money…. Just not our QB.

Ickey needs all the practice he can get at handling speed guys with the Bucs picking up Reddick.

Said it when we drafted him, but I think Nick S could be a Charles Johnson type. Johnson obviously had a couple great seasons, but he was never the star...just damn good. Good against the run and getting 7-8 sacks a year would be a godsend.

Princely has the upside so love to see your post. Who knows how he'll be against the run, but if we're going to get a double digit sack guy, it's him IMO.

Now let's just hope and pray they both hit.

    • Bryce just didn't maximize Hunter Renfrow's skills. ***rant incoming*** But this isn't just about Bryce Young mistiming passes to Renfrow so bad that he's going to get Renfrow killed or hurt, this is also about incompetentence by Dave Canales. Renfrow can still play. He's putting DBs in a blender out there---making them play twister at the top of routes to keep up with him, and dumb Dave has the nerve to cut him. How about putting Hunter in the best position to help the damned offense by appreciating his skill set, DC? You're letting Bryce's apparent inability to make an accurate throw, or at least his timidity to push the ball down the damned field cloud your judgment and miscalculate talent---or maybe just miss on talent just as much as Bryce misses passes due to playing pussified football. It's fúcking unacceptable.  Speaking of misjudgment, I don't know if it's Dan Morgan or Canales, but Eijiro Evero is not the business at DC. I have said a few times that his scheme is not conducive to run-stopping efficiency. Hell, and after watching some clips of plays, now I absolutely know why. The gaps are at least half open before the play even fúcking starts. You are setting the opposition's RBs up for success with too much damned space at the line and in the second level. If our guys are taken out in these areas---at the line and in the second level---then the defense is screwed because it must rely on the safeties to cover too much ground to make the tackle. At least put Ransom in who is motivated to seek and destroy if you're going to effectively leave the safeties on an island.  And speaking of rookies, get our two new defensive ends more snaps to see if we can't generate more of a pass rush. For all the good the continued sorry display of defense that you're putting out for fan's to see (Ejiro, Dave and Dan), you may as well get the rookies generously involved. Fúck that money we gave second-rate (maybe second-rate) vets, we need a damned spark getting after the QB. Watch it, it's just another breakdown of the sh¡t we were subjected to last week. I say this with all respect: Fúck you, Dave! Fúck you, Dan! Learn how to run a fúcking franchise. Maximize the players, regardless of what you think you're supposed to do by the book. Cut the dead weight before another season is lost and fans lose interest in September. EE is "Ew!" Or for emphasis "EEw!" /end rant
    • But nobody is saying he is a good deep ball passer.  But the facts are since he's returned from his benching, he has been throwing downfield.  Whether you want to credit the scheme, Bryce himself, or whatever, he has been pushing it deep.  Not to any positive results mind you, but it has been happening.
