It would be fair to classify comments openly cheerleading an opposing player playing well against our camp bodies while ignoring that he played nowhere near as well against the guys who are likely to be on the final roster as "jackass comments".

He played TWO series against are starters, shedeur a ROOKIE in his First game of his career was always gonna play majority of the game while our EXPERIENCED starters were only gonna play two series max. What the hell are you trying to compare here? What would have been the narrative if he looked like crap against those 2nd and 3rd stringers while playing with camp bodies the ENTIRE game himself? You still aint answered that part and yes your comments are still jackass.

I'm saying he didn't look very good against actual NFL players and started liking good when he was playing against guys who will be working at the Amazon warehouse in a couple weeks. It's not that hard to decipher.

He looked a lot better than many QBs that I've seen," and that's saying something considering that he hasn't been availed the same opportunities and resources as those QBs. And, like I told you before, he was playing "with guys who will be working at the Amazon warehouse in a couple of weeks," if you want to put it like that, and that's all he has played with since becoming an NFL employee.

We didn't learn anything new. He held the ball forever, scrambled around, and found some receivers against subpar completion. It was just an extension of Colorado. We already know he can do that. We don't know if he can play QB in the NFL when games matter and teams are game planning for him to try to do that.

Yeah, OK. Plenty of people, including an undisclosed NFL exec, disagrees about learning anything new. Sanders exceeded expectations for many people. As for what "we don't know," we can say that about some starters now, but especially rookies who have never taken a snap "when games matter."

We'll find out if he plays in the regular season. Watching y'all slobber over this dude because he played well against our camp bodies after looking like a JAG against our starters and primary backups  is just embarrassing.

See there you go with that shtick. No one, here at least, is "slobbering" over anyone. I find it "embarrassing" that y'all won't admit that Shedeur got hosed during the draft for something other than his talent and potential to play QB in the NFL. I find it highly "embarrassing" that what are supposedly educated football fans essentially co-signing a nonsensical slide by using some johnny-come-lately, ultimately nonsensical justifications for a slide to the fifth round. It is "embarrassing," but it's certainly not surprising.

No one gets "hosed" in the draft. You get drafted where your perceived worth is.

Just more emotion based arguments from you, per usual.

Let me give a quick breakdown...EVERY rookie is gonna be playing mostly against 2nd and 3rd stringers the next 3 weeks so by default we shouldn't be taking anything seriously for any of them right? Cool...my thing is and this is just me...there is only ONE player I have consistently heard since the draft from people with voices that said he is NOT and nfl player at ALL and that's shedeur. So now you can better understand why people are celebrating his performance because thats how low he has been buried and people have had to hear it for months, its no different than the people being annoyed by the sanders hype since they got to Colorado. Also for a 5th round pick that was "lucky to be drafted"...to do what he did it should be fair to expect the guys drafted in front him to do better shouldn't it? Im just saying...

Simplistic argument meant to divert discussion from reality. No surprises.

I don’t know, I’m kinda worried.  Did our starters score 7 points?  Yes, but went 3 and out, wasn’t it, on the first drive against second and third stringers.  The touchdown was against the same group but come on, first stringers did not look good to me at all.  I felt like the oline struggled, Bryce did ok, defense was lacking albeit missing a couple of key players and special teams was just…special.  Preseason is preseason, I get it, but I refuse to get my hopes up this year especially after what I saw Friday night.  10-30 against the browns 2nd stringers and down does not instill confidence in me.

A lot of people seem to have a significant emotional attachment to Shedeur.

Why is that? I don’t pay attention to college so I’ve never seen him play.

i don’t get the cult following. Please explain.

Yeah, outside of the TD drive there wasn't a whole lot to be hopeful about. I mean, even the starting D benefitted from Shedeur missing a couple of throws and a receiver cutting off a comeback route half a yard short on 3rd down. It was more about the Browns failing to capitalize than it was about them forcing stops.

    • Night and day difference in the front office investements.  Since Morgan has been in the FO (5 years)....4 out of 5 first round picks have been offensive players.  The one defensive pick was a corner. Expand it out to the first 2 rounds? 7 out of the 9 picks have been offensive.  That IMO is why our D sucks so bad.   You build defenses up front.   Carolina hasn't been investing there.  Ron's first 5 years? 3 of the 5 first round picks were defensive players.  Expand it all to include second rounders  7 of the 10 picks were defensive.  All front 7 players.
    • I think he gets this year to show what he can do.  Last year, we had a lot of injuries. This year, we should have some players, even if we lose one or two.  It's the first preseason game.  Some of the starters weren't even in it.  There is no scheming or game planning.  Let's see how guys do when it counts. I think we have a GM that knows a thing or two about defense.  Let it play out.
    • I was ok with the mentor aspect of keeping Dalton, but wow has he fallen off the deep end. The slow behind the WR interception was awful. I keep hearing our WRs created no separation, but on that particular play dude was wide open and Dalton couldn't get it to him with a clean pocket. Next year, we need to address the backup QB spot haaaaaard!
