Re-claiming this Board

I found myself inspired after posting in another thread... But what a collapse this place has seen. It's embarrassing. 

I remember this board when Jake tore his elbow and then came back to throw 5 interceptions against the Cardinals, when Jimmy Clausen was supposed to be great and sucked, when Julius Peppers left for the Bears, when Andrew Luck went back to Stanford, when Ron Rivera's stoic sideline appearance during ass whoopings lost its charm, and many other shitty times. It has NEVER been this bad. Ever.

Now maybe Zod has abandoned this place. Maybe all of the veterans that kept this place humming are gone. But what is it going to take to get this place tolerable, let alone ENJOYABLE again? 

Disagreements? Sure. Pissed rants? Of course. Player bashings after a bad game? Understandable.

But this is different. It's toxic. And it is not only being tolerated, it has become the norm and precedent set for this place. I don't create threads much anymore, but this is my ONE attempt to ask for this place to be returned to the fans. If my attempt goes unheard or ignored, I'll simply walk away quietly like so many others have.

But this place needs to either change or die. I hope my fellow veterans step up here. And I hope Zod steps up. This is your ship, Zod. And it is nearly sunk. Hopefully that means something.

Now I'm fully prepared to be roasted and attacked as has become the normal interaction around here. But I hope to be proven wrong.

People get down in down times.  It's natural.

Maybe give some examples of what you deem so bad?  Maybe I am not paying as much attention, but I don't think the sky is falling.

You say you don't start threads anymore.  Why not try to be the change you want to see in the world?

What are some measures you would suggest? Mod enforced positivity about the team isn't an option. But if the problem is people fighting, report it when you see it.

all I have to say about this, I’m on a lot of sports message boards, and I’m shocked at the posts the mods let go around here.

Every thread turning to a fug Tepper and Bryce is Antichrist is what he’s talking about.

The thread could be about freaking Sam Mills and it will devolve into a Bryce debate for no reason.

No one needs to poo rainbows here. But if you can't see that this isn't an inviting place for fan conversation, I don't know what else to say other than you aren't paying attention.

Do you report it?  Their eyes can't be everywhere, and everyone has a different opinion of what is tolerable.

It’s not enforced positivity man. Look at the EXCELLENT all 22 posts Icege did. The kind of stuff people on this board crave that we rarely get because the good posters have abandoned this place. Any other board I’m on would have quickly nipped that in the bud. It’s literally the same posters every time, it’s not hard.

I report the physical threats I see in the game threads when things get heated. No im not gonna report the same 2-3 posters who derail every single thread, it seems the mods encourage that around here. Guess it’s all about post counts.
