Tepper Era Strikes Again!

Short version = these people have had those seats since the beginning and haven't missed a game. They have always had their sign. They had to change the sign - I think in 2015 when Cam ripped that Packers fan's banner down (love him for that, by the way) - to be compliant and haven't had any issues in the last 10 years. The Panthers even used a photo of them and their sign in their album from the Falcons game. In the 3rd quarter last weekend it was decided that the sign needed to come down. Seems weird and unnecessary, especially since it has been there for every game for a decade.

EDIT: they've had it since 2003. Still a long-ass time....

Seems about par for the course IMO. The Panthers have seemed to try to run off fans ever since Tepper started getting spurned by the fanbase because he ruined the team and the Roaring Riot has always been pretty cringe. So, yeah. Basically played out exactly as expected.

Also "cringe" is a funny word for someone over the age of 18 who lives and overshares on the Huddle. But, ok....

So what about their sign is not compliant or causing the issue according to the rules?

Them always having it, or the amount of time they have had it, or their loyalty to the team is not relevant to this situation.

To be clear, I know next to nothing about this situation, just trying to clarify.  I have no dog in this fight and am emotionless on this topic.

If you are breaking a rule, you do not get special treatment just because you have been here breaking it a long time.

From my understanding, the rule states that nothing can be secured to anything in the stadium. They have leaned the sign on the railing (they're in the front) but haven't ever secured it to the railing. There hasn't been a problem with that in 10 years. Sunday they were told to take it down and also told they weren't able to hold the signs in their laps.

Sorry I hurt your feelings. Toughen up. There's a lot more Tepper misery to suffer through yet. LOL

Hurt my feelings? Oh please, I'm used getting hate. Adult keyboard warriors using slang my kids do is new though. I'm sure the Huddle thinks you're so edgy though...

Ok.  I see that signs may not obstruct others view.  That seems to be a pretty large sign, and since they are in the front, if they were to hold it up, I feel it would obstruct others view.

I don't see the point in holding the sign in their laps.

If I were in securities shoes, I would just tell them to put it up, so that I don't have to keep a constant eye on them because not everyone listens and will just wait until I turn my back to raise the sign again.  I see no point in holding a sign on your lap where it can not be seen unless you are just waiting to break the rules again.

The amount of time they have "gotten away" with this is still irrelevant.  For all we know, someone complained they could not see because of the sign.

Cringe is a pretty common word.  Resorting to insults like this is the immature thing in my opinion.

When you have kids, time stops for you on many things and language is one of them.

Keyboard warriors says the person crashing out on Facebook over a little sign and now crashing out on the Huddle because people are pointing out that crashing out over a little sign is pretty dumb. LOL

All of this over me saying you act cringy and then here you come and prove me right.

A long-term Panthers fan and parent should have developed thicker skin than this. And yeah, I have kids hence why I'm more up to speed on kid slang than I otherwise would be. Although honestly "cringe" is pretty much common vernacular at this point. Not exactly edgy.

I didn't post anything on Facebook nor did I "crash out" on anyone on here for having opinions about it. I just shared their story since there were some questions about what happened to them. It is cute that you think I am somehow bothered by your comment or the ridiculous things this team does. I've been dead of any emotions for this team and critics for many years. The irony in being called that by you was too rich to not mention though.
