Their defense is on track to be worse than ours last year. Their run D is in the bottom half but their pass D is horrible.

32nd overall D, 32nd passD, 23rd rush D

We are going to have to throw the ball against them, which means down field where they are vulnerable. Problem is Turnover Fred struggles to push the ball down the field and we have the 26th ranked pass offense. Running will help but will have to beat them through the air.

On the flip side, Dallas’ offense is awesome.

1st overall, 3rd pass, 8th run.

But Evero’s defense is ranked 12th right now with the pass D around 10th and rush D around 14th.

If we can take care of the football (looking at Bryce) and we make plays down the field (also looking at Bryce) we can win, yes.

Look at who they’ve played

Moton being out certainly hurts but the hit dog mentality is tiring. Guys on other teams get hurt too. We're at home. If this team is ever going to emerge as any kind of contender they need to overcome adversity.

The other subs have been pretty good.
It’s Nijman. That portends jailbreaks.

The optimist in me says he can't be much worse than some of the other turnstiles we've started at tackle over the years. But the pessimist says expect pain.

Either way I have low expectations for our passing offense.

Yeah that definitely brings familiar images to mind. Jr likes to exit the the pocket stage right it is a roadmap to dysfunction. Run run run and then run some more

Well we know why he rolls out. But with 34 games worth of tape out there for defenses to chew on it's not fooling anyone anymore. They expect it and react accordingly. And lately whenever he immediately bails from the pocket it just ends up with him putting the ball on the ground. If he struggles to protect the football again in a game with sloppy weather conditions they need to do what's best for the team.

Like I said. Run run run and then run it again.
maybe we can be  like whatever game it was last year where he didn’t do poo all game until the end and then he made a play or two- wasn’t much but it was enough.

    • I just dont get the worry over losing a practice squad player that just went undrafted. Everyone just made their selections. The chances of a team wanting to sign him to an active roster after not selecting him is very low.  If that interested they would have taken him late to evaluate in person. As far as I can tell two qbs were signed off another teams practice squad last season and they were both going in to their 5th season.
    • I enjoyed reading this thread and the usual banter that follows. The only silver lining I can identify right now is we do actually have a couple of young QB's behind him and we do have a nice roster on both sides of the ball built around the most important position. So if the team overall shows some promise but we still falter largely due to a lack of consistent passing output (again) hopefully the decision makers can be free to make the best decision for the team going forward after the conclusion of this upcoming season.
    • I don't really follow the team anymore due to a variety of reasons and consequently have largely stopped posting but I agree that this is a lovely website and community. This forum probably kept me around for years longer than I would've stuck otherwise because of how difficult it was to stop checking multiple times a day. Especially appreciate how lax the moderation tends to be compared to a lot of places, the crew here does a great job. Out of curiousity I decided to try making a new account (solely for testing purposes) to see what exactly is wrong with the sign up process. The issue seems to be that it never sends you an account verification email, thus making it impossible to complete registration. This is likely something to do with the email server upstream, hope it gets fixed. Also, lol
