Winning solves out problems at QB?

You are not wrong.  But you are also under-valuing a Win.

Every game we have won in the last three years has been despite Bryce, and he has to go.  But losing only teaches the team how to lose.

Final stats.  Dowdle had 28 more yards, a tenth more per average and 2 tuddys to Bryce's goose egg.  Oh, let's not forget zero turnovers to Bryce's 1. When the RB is stat dunking all over our supposed franchise QB, there needs to be a change.

The stat that jumps off the page to me:   Rico averaged more per carry that Bryce per pass.

We found a gem in Jackson and we found another in Smith Wade.  But damn, "He He", catch the ball and take it to the house.   You could have moon-walked that into the end zone.  Lose one of your gloves.

OK, I am out of ammo.

Totally fair, but I also have not one time complained about winning these games, not once.  Everyone keeps saying I'm upset because it's hurting our draft stock, but I've never once said anything close to that, because it's not at all accurate.

I'm frustrated that we're 9 games into Canales' 2nd season and Bryce's 3rd, and yet we still just look like crap.

Here is a good way to explain how I'm viewing things right now, despite it being an odd way to describe it.

If someone took today's game put all the drives in a random order and removed all scoring plays (so you can't keep score yourself) and said, "watch this game and tell me what team won the game and your general feeling on each team"

Not a single person would watch the game and say that we were the better team, or even that we played well.

And THAT is my problem with the team, because we just flat out look bad still, wins aside.

And yes, I acknowledge that good teams still find ways to win when they don't look good.  But at some point you need to look good while doing so or you're never going to actually make the playoffs (or if you somehow find a way to, you're going to get crushed by a legit good team).

Too many fans keep celebrating wins because they're wins, and ignoring how we actually look on the field.

If you say patently idiotic and insulting poo thinking you are being some smart guy, I will call you on it.

I am a cade mays fan, but Corbett was solid today, imo.  I don't watch every play--I tend to snapshot the right side and then the left about 4 times a game.

The whole patchwork mess was solid.  That is what a lead and a running game can do for them.

I k ow I said I would be quiet…

You seem to be surprised that Bryce sucks and rediscover it every week. We know he sucks. I damn sure know he sucks.
At some point it is nice to overlook it and focus on some good things. Like understanding that we would have lost that game the last several years and appreciating that we didn’t.

I don’t see many people saying playoffs, yay Bryce (I know they exist).

I get what you're saying, but you kinda prove my point by saying "overlook it"

Which means in reality, you agree with what I'm saying but are just upset at me for not being able to ignore it and "just be happy" because we won.

You guys see a win where we still don't look good.

I see it as a win that gives me no actual increased hope for the future because I didn't see anything that makes me think we're actually improving as a team.

I don't want to celebrate an 8-9 season where we end the season with more questions about our future than answers.

Would you extend Bryce right now?

Would you give Canales a contract extension?

I said it before the season started, I cared about one thing this year (or two depending if you view them together or separate).  I wanted to see Bryce and Canales improve at their respective jobs, and I haven't seen that out of either of them, let alone enough improvement to want to keep them around long term.

And that is why games like today frustrate me more than I can celebrate a win.  Because I don't see how they're actually setting us up for future success, and that concerns the hell out of me.

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
