Thats exactly how the defense looked.

Er... The defense that gave up 17 total points, despite two turnovers from the O and Horn falling twice (to give up 14 points?). They weren't great but good enough to win. Some of the guys on d may have thought they'd arrived but honestly I think the O was the problem. Bryce just can't make the ball.

I think NO averages around 15 a game. Maybe. Course that was with Rattler mostly.
So they barely beat their average.
They have been giving up high 20s I think. Looked at it last week.
The offense was the problem.

Absolutely. Despite the turnovers and the terrible slips we only gave up 17. If the offense could have mustered a single productive drive after the start of the game ...

So, in respect to just experience, position and expectation/contract, our vet "leaders" should be:

Defense:

Horn, Moehrig, D Brown, Wharton, & Rozeboom

Offense:

Bryce, Moton, Lewis, Chuba (not playing well, but it's known w/him)

Crazy how we're not hearing much from this crowd (minus DB)

Could the general lack of leadership make the team overall feel more relaxed after a win?  No one is organizing and leading the groups?  Then you have everyone including the depth guys acting more cocky or lazy than they usually do?  Could be the case.

The offense definitely needs a guy to command the unit during the week.  Doesn't seem like a thing Bryce does.  Another potentially terrible indictment on him (and Canales especially)

    • Unknown what Morgan's full opinion of Young is, but given the investment we have in him and his performance through the end of last season, trying to get whatever they can out of him is reasonable.  As far as differences, Fitterer was reported to have more trust in analytics data than Morgan does. Morgan prefers old school eyes on game film scouting.
    • There is no point in thinking about Shedeur. He can't behave normally in the media, he can't support his teammates when they get a shot. Zero chance he's ready to lead an NFL locker room. Let someone else deal with him.  This was a month ago: https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-rookie-shedeur-sanders-pantomimes-answers-to-cleveland-media-following-joe-flacco-s-benching
    • It’s a confidence thing mostly. He’s playing like he was with Reich and before he was benched. Got benched and had nothing to lose and started taking some shots.    Defenses also adjust, think about Arizona where they played soft and he went down the field 3 times. Get an onside kick, have 50 yards to go to win and can’t move the ball because they stiffened up on him.    I’m halfway expecting him to be more aggressive this week due to all the poo talking but it’s not going to matter if he goes back to his old ways in 2 weeks because his confidence is that fragile.
