Surprise! Wait… Surprise Again! Kon Looks Really Good!

Seeing as how the other thread somehow became a makeshift catch-all for this season, I figured we would do a 2.0 that’s more reflective of where we are now.  Kon is looking like he should be the favorite for ROY, and how gratifying that would be considering the NBA did everything in their power two out of the last three years to rob us of perceived generational talents and route Wemby and Flagg to their preferred destinations rather than Charlotte.  The Wemby one is gonna sting, but if we just got the best player in this most recent draft in Kon, it stings a little less.

Obviously wanted to draft Wemby, but I thought there was a high probability he would be injury riddled throughout his career.  That is looking to be the case at this point.  If Miller can stay healthy, he will be a great pick we can live with.

I haven't kept up with any of the other rookies, will have to check out stats as to how others are doing.

Thank you, that thread was getting old.

Can we all agree that LaMelo Ball is not helping this team one bit?  He has to be bad for the culture, some leader he is.

He is immensely talented but I've never looked at him the same since this. He simply is not a leader nor does he want to be one despite the supermax contract he's been blessed with.

Totally agree. Get him on the court and encourage him to be a ball hog. Make his so tempting to a draft partner that they give away the farm for him and continue building around Miller, Kon, Kalk and Bridges.

Looks like Ball is looking like hot garbage once again tonight. What are we doing here?

I think we’ll have a complete reset after this year. We got some good pieces in the draft this year, and next years draft is super strong. I would expect Ball, Miles etc. to be traded during the season. That would allow for us to finally build things the right way.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
