Panthers SHOULD Trade up to get 2 Draft Picks in 1st rd

Part of the reason the Panthers are in their current situation is that we've done too much mortgaging our future in the form of trading future high picks in order to try to get a quick solution by trading up in the draft.

Look at the what NE does. They sit patiently and prey on teams trying to do just that and they enter just most drafts loaded to the gills with picks. This gives them some great opportunities to add to their team by either using those picks or having them as trade bait. They've been playing chess while we've been playing checkers. There's gonna be some heads banging walls on here when we see some of the names still on the board when they hit the clock with our #33 pick.

All truth.

    • Names I'd keep an eye on... Coby White,  Jalen Suggs, Amen Thompson  and Stephen Castle...  3 teams except Orlando has checked on Melo before and rumblings of sours getting rid of fox too. I'd think they think Melo and Wemby would make them nuclear out west.
    • Well he somehow had 12 preseason carries for not playing. He also has 20 carries in the regular season, not three. He has actually played in about 7% of the offensive snaps for this regular season(33% of the special teams snaps). This isn't stuff you have to make up, these are very easily referenced statistics, man.
    • It's not common for a RB to recover from two ACL tears in the same knee. It's fairly rare. You are correct that it isn't the career ender that it used to be but there is also the fact that we appear to have largely moved on with the additions of Dowdle and Etienne.  Dobbins is a very good example. He has basically missed 54% of his career regular season games since he came into the league in 2020. It will end up being 57% at the conclusion of this season. It's a big contributing factor to why he is on this third NFL team in 6 years. It's certainly possible that may be 4 by the beginning of next season. I would say there is very little chance that Brooks ever contributes in any meaningful way in Carolina. Possibly with another team but I am extremely skeptical of his future here because of those injuries and because of the roster.
