My response to pretty much everybody who's talking about "competition"

It ain't happenin' next year 😕

It could happen the following season, but only if Bryce has a bad fourth year.

So if you're pinning any hope whatsoever on any potential QB competition for the 2026 season? Well, sorry but...

I just don't get this at all. Literally almost any vet they sign would be competition.

I don't know what his status is next year.

I know he got better coaching from somebody other than Matt Rhule after he left us, but if I remember correctly his playoff performance last season was... less than stellar.

No, no, no.

I don't mean bring him back. I just mean another wild gunslinger with poor decision making and a penchant for a ton of turnovers.

He's with the Eagles.

I knew he was with the Vikings in PS but didn't realize they had kept him and then traded him.

Also, as to why he might not be playing:

"Increasingly well traveled, Howell sat out Minnesota's preseason finale. He ended August with 118 passing yards and an interception on 12-of-18 passing in the preseason. However, his last appearance in purple was a disaster in which he completed one of his five pass attempts for 13 yards and the aforementioned pick."

For fug sake man, can you read?  Where did I criticize bryce and where did I make excuses for TL?  goddamn

and bryce is in a way better situation.  Better oline, better rbs, better wrs.  What in the holy fug are you watching?

Thats exactly what indicating considering you responded to my comment

Trevor has the better line, weapon and coaches. And defense which gives him better field position

If you are using PFR then you should be able to easily the the dividing league average line.....where Bryce is above and Trevor is below it.  It's a big blank space that says league average when you are sorting by bad throw %.

You don't really want to go backwards.

Bryce was #1 in bad throw % in 2023

Bryce was #1 in bad throw % in 2024 (technically 2 but #1 was Anthony Richardson and he didn't finish out the season)

in 2023, 2024, 2025.....Bryce is above league average all 3 seasons in bad throw % and Trevor is below all 3 seasons.

Bryce stans need to find something else than thinking Trevor Lawrence somehow makes Bryce Young not bad.   It's not working.  And no one, even Clemson fans, really want to be in here defending the forever disappointing Trevor Lawrence.

Again, no one cares about 2023 If they did, everyone would want Kirk Cousins.

As far as he being slightly below average with bad throw, he is. Young's at 17.5% and the average is 16.3%. When you do the math that comes out to be 4 bad throws over 13 games. Statistically insignificant. Certainly not worth trashing a guy over.

And it seems to me it is you trying to use Trevor to make Young look worse. After all, you are the one who claimed Trevor was above average and claimed his struggles this year are from "The Jags skill positions players have been a big let down this year." I'm just responding to your claims.

He's been suggested a few times as someone with the physical skills who was young and could possibly fit the system DC runs. A throw it at the wall and see if he sticks option.

That I knew. I mistakenly thought he meant someone had brought him up in this thread.

Again, the Bryce stans need to get on the same page.  It was just complained about when I didn’t include 2023 on another discussion and left it out.  Because they wanted to talk about his growth.

the Bryce stans bring up Trevor, not the haters

I have never said Trevor is above average lol as a NFL QB.

but yes, Trevor can be a headache basket case  AND the league leaders in drops can be a big letdown (paired with injury) in a convo where someone calls them great.  They have been hurt and dropping the ball unlike any other team.  Thats not great weapons at your disposal if they are hurt and not catching

    • With the contract money an OT first rounder makes you can ALWAYS get a new girlfriend.  And probably an upgrade at that.  You only got 2 parents.
    • Brother. You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.
    • Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
