Define "we", kemo sabe 😕

I don't see that post as addressing you, or others with a similar take. As mentioned above, there are indeed people on here with unreasonable / unrealistic expectations. Mind you, that's true on the pro-Bryce side too but it's a smaller crowd.

Just like you could find random idiots (racists usually but ... ) that thought Derek Anderson should start over cam, you can find any number of stupid takes.  That post was in a thread by a poster that does not have such takes, which had other non stupid posters that are all considered not to be fans of Bryce.

So do you think it's unreasonable to assume that post was about the posters in this thread?  I think you're being overly charitable in your interpretation is all.

Anyway this isn't really going anywhere... You and I mostly agree honestly about Bryce (as do most of the so-called haters).

But still, it's Cleveland 😄

I don't claim to have seen all that much of Gabriel this year (not enough of a masochist to watch Browns games) but the "Factory of Sadness" is one of the league's funniest running gags to me 😄

Would be great if we could have a "Marvel What If" type of thing for football. I'd ask what would have happened if Tom Brady had been drafted by the Browns.

I have seen a fair amount of him.

He is the worst active QB in the NFL. It's impressive how bad he is.

Brady was a two season starter in college.

wasn't he like co-starter with Drew Hensen most of his last season.  It was some weird alternate QB thing going on at Michigan.  I don't know, I just googled and co-pilot spit out 10.  I don't think it qualifies as 2 legit seasons at Michgian though but maybe it is more than that AI spit out.  Going for the quick and easy has given me 3 different numbers lol.

Hell, the post was in a thread that isn't even about Bryce, but that's how it works around here 😄

Some of the same posters in this thread have also posted heavily in a couple of other threads where I'vw been active. Let's just say some of the takes were...less than reasonable.

There are certainly reasonable takes, and I think you and I share one.

There are also "we win in spite of him" arguments, which are among the silliest takes in the world to me 😖

Yeah, literally never trust that horseshit.

I was assured that was Bryce 🤔

Have heard that Tagovailoa and JJ McCarthy among others aren't exactly setting the world on fire this season either.

No, if you look there are a few QB's very obviously worse than Bryce. Gabriel, Justin Fields, Anthony Richardson, JJ McCarthy.

Those guys are really, really bad.

I asked AI imaging to reproduce a picture of some of my budgies.

What I got was an image of some kind of weird, unearthly budgie / conure / macaw hybrid 😳

Current AI is fuging atrocious for 99% of the uses the average person uses it for.

For researchers with limited data sets they feed it to analyze based on criteria fed to them by actual intelligent human beings, it can be extremely useful.

It's not useful in the ridiculously ineffective ways that most will use them.

Fields...oy 🤢

I still remember people pulling heavily for us to draft Fields.

(Lance too)

What you were told about Bryce is over the last 3 seasons he has been the worst….which is really a statement about QBs who also have played over the past 3 seasons.

did someone like Anthony Richardson play within that window and was worse?  Yeah.   Those guys you can name worse had their opportunity taken away because they were deemed bad or have yet to be given in the league long enough to even have to opportunity (so like a bad rookie). QBs that are as unimpressive as Bryce don’t get the 3 season opportunity

For the record, I didn't want us to draft Bryce, and after the first half of the season I was hoping his starting tenure was over. But I have to admit, that he's played his way out of "the biggest bust of all time' conversation. He is currently playing his way into the "you could do a lot worse at QB" conversation, which is arguably worse for the franchise long term as far as "QB purgatory" goes. I hope the back and forth between being "horrifically bad" and "pretty damn good" stops next season (or the remainder of this season)

Me personally, after getting my hopes up at the end of last season only to have him regress again, makes me think that bad Bryce is closer to the norm.

    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
    • Guessing the price is too rich here given the injury history.  2024 was brutal and production dropped off in 2025 with a few more injuries (albeit rough qb play).    Don’t really understand the narrative that Young can’t benefit from talented upgrades on offense. Especially here with respect to a tight end. Any QB will benefit from talented receivers that threaten the top of coverage and tight ends with skills to stress zone.    The age and injury history, coupled with what he’s likely asking, just probably means we can better spend that money elsewhere.
