Canes vs Stars 7pm

Rantaanen didn't do anything wrong. He didn't ask for a trade in the first place, and he didn't ask to be traded from Carolina.

He's not dragged the organization and has not been anything less than a professional hockey player.

But, I expect he will not receive a warm welcome because most fans don't know the whole story nor do they understand the business.

I think we have a pretty intelligent fanbase that understands how both work. Now fickle and impatient, sure.  But seeing both sides of success and failure within the years of the organization, they are pretty well versed in being there live most nights, I see it.

and if they want to boo a player, let him have it. I for one can’t stand Mikko. Played half ass and hurt the team while he was here. So what if you don’t want to be here. Be a professional and give  it your all. He did neither here.

judging your own fans and telling them how to be a fan is wild business.  Fans will fan how they want.

Understood but I would still boo him.  I'm a simple man.  I see Mikko.  I boo.

He never said he didn't want to be here. Believe what you want, but it's an assumption not really based in fact.

But, whatever works for you. On one hand you're criticizing the FO for not getting long term deals agreed upon before the trade is made, and, at the same time criticizing the player for supposedly not wanting to be here.

Smoke is a pretty good reason to assume something is on fire, even if you don't see it, He didn't say it publicly, but there is a reason he was traded, same reason The Panthers dealt Thelien, he made it clear to the parties involved that he wasn't going to sign long term here, infact I remember him saying he has yet to decide if he's staying in Carolina or not, he obviously chose not

CMC never actually said the words he wanted out of Carolina, but his hamstrings are coincidently holding up better with the 9ers, and his family made their joy public after he was traded

Just because someone can't legally or politically say something, doesn't make it less true

Whatever happened behind the scenes, he was a net negative for us on the ice. That doesn't happen with a player of his caliber by accident.

    • Ehlers needs to sit. Definitely can't lose him to a meaningless game.
    • Bet didn't hit because the referee missed 3 clear corner kicks. I had a 5k parlay that would have been alive tomorrow if he didn't miss those calls as well. Super annoying
    • I don't think it's at all a given that we have players who are good at driving the basket. I guess that depends on your definition. Bridges is 43rd in attempts in the paint Miller is 64th and LaMelo is 66th. We all love to see the lob threat but it's largely miniscule at this point in time. There's gotta be a solution here if LaMelo is to be the centerpiece because this is simply not sustainable if we want to continue to ascend. If he can't drive to the basket then that means we need to add another player to the core who consistently can. That would require moving someone like Miles Bridges. And that's certainly not going to be popular with LaMelo but something has to give here for what we are investing and we need to maximize guys like Miller and Knueppel on rookie deals while we still can. The three chucking is fine when it's working where the issue comes into play is there are no adjustments when it isn't and we just go into a shell and begin to look like the Hornets of yesteryear. That's why the offensive evolution of all involved is critical to us taking the next step. Getting to the play in is nice but we should have our sights set much higher. Right now though they need to take care of business against the Heat. All I ask is that they at least beat those fools. I cannot stand the Heat.
