Carolina's Biggest Flaw According to NFL.COM (It proves what we Huddler's have noticed for YEARS!)

🔴 Poor (This is where we currently place with Bryce...so far)

–0.10 to –0.05

  • Bottom-quarter NFL starter

  • Drives frequently stall due to sacks, failed 3rd downs, or lack of explosives

  • Can win only with elite defense/run game

🟡 Below Average

–0.05 to 0.00

  • Replacement-level starter

  • Functional but inefficient

  • Requires strong supporting cast

If you look at the category just ahead of POOR (Bryce's ranking), it only improves to BELOW AVERAGE. Pay attention to what it says:

Replacement-level starter, functional but inefficient, requires a strong supporting cast.

If Bryce improved to 0.00, he'd still only by a marginal QB. I think we could accept this better if he were a 2nd or 2rd day pick. But, Bryce was the first overall player chosen and required us to part with our best WR, and multiple high draft choices. If he doesn't show a massive improvement in year 4, Carolina would be foolish not to start looking for a replacement heading into 2027. And, it wouldn't be able idea to acquire a legit back up this offseason.

It suck’s knowing right now that Bryce is terrible, accepting that reality, and at the same time wanting the Panthers to succeed in the playoffs which by doing so, would only further cement the delusion that plagues so many in the fan base.  Whatever his “best” is, we’ve already seen it. There’s no breakthrough coming, he’s not going to grow overnight like Tom Hanks in Big, not going to develop arm strength on his small frame. If this front office is not already laying out the QB replacement strategy then we’re long-term fuged.

i don’t ask for much, but id like a Super Bowl win this season and a new quarterback next season. It sounds crazy but it isn’t.

They’re all over social media. Everytime I see a cluster of them I say they can’t be watching the games in whole. It is hard to watch Bryce and the offense play.

Most of my friends who are fans of other teams think Bryce is trash, though. In my best friend group is quite a few saints fans. Needless to say, they want us to keep rolling with Bryce

I just want one of them to actually be able to explain it without regurgitating idiotic things like "Big Time Throws."

Just tell the rest of us where this rainbow and pot of gold you seem to be seeing is.

I wonder what the fvck a little time throw is. Whatever it is, among starters, Bryce has to lead it.

Fvck a "big time throw."

My biggest issue is the the name of that stat. And the lie it encourages. Spare me the hype until it is justified.

Big Time Throws, to my mind, are what he has a chance to make tomorrow.

They aren’t a ten yard completion in the 2nd quarter against the Jets. No matter how good a throw it was.

Maybe a last minute hard to make pass to clinch an honest no hype game winning drive.

I just re-watched the Panthers/Seahags game from 2015. That was a special team.
Talk about Big Time Throws…that #1 guy was “pretty good”! He and Olsen had a great connection. And J.Stew…none of the current RB are even close to his running style.

Yeah I watched an edited version of the Rams X Clown game this morning. I forgot we blew a pretty good lead late.
Hoover looked better than I remembered. Of all the things to say about the game but he did.
Stephen Davis, beast.

    • If Mays has a market, which it seems he will, he's gone.  I think we bring back Nijman for too much money to be cautious at LT, Corbett comes back cheap since he's already said he wants to live in CLT, and Christensen eventually gets re-signed with the hopes he can be depth at some point.  Draft an OT, draft a C. The OL might be rough for stretches next year, but time to get some youth there to prepare for Bryce in 2027 or the next QB. I still think we compete for the division in 2026 and can go back to the playoffs unlike the oddsmakers in Vegas, but the *real* year is 2027 IMO. Either Bryce has proven it and he's the QB looking at his 2nd contract, or we have the ready-made team for the next rookie QB or Vet we trade for.
    • The Panthers are going to have a lot more flexibility in free agency than it looks like at first glance. On paper, the cap space might seem tight, but there are several obvious restructure candidates that could easily free up significant room. Between converting base salaries into signing bonuses and spreading cap hits out over future years, Carolina could realistically clear $60–80 million in additional space if they wanted to be aggressive. That kind of flexibility means they’re not stuck. They can extend key young pieces, add help along the offensive line, upgrade the defense, and still be strategic about value signings. Letting Cade Mays test the market makes sense from a leverage standpoint. If he’s willing to come back on a team-friendly deal, great, continuity on the line matters. But if his market price climbs, the Panthers should absolutely explore upgrades. The point is, this front office isn’t boxed in. With cap maneuvering and smart structuring, they have the ability to be active players in free agency rather than sitting on the sidelines like we are used too.
