IU is a better defensive team than Ole Miss too.

The Hoosiers are about as dominant of a team as I have seen in a long, long time.

Yeah, I don't know if they're historically great or if the transfer portal has largely really leveled the playing field in terms of the top teams not being head and shoulders better than everyone else like in years past because those 4 and 5 star recruits stacked up like cordwood don't sit around waiting their turn these days, they take a bag and transfer somewhere else.

Yep, they're gonna have to dominate the trenches on both sides of the ball if they're going to compete. They basically ran a Bryce Young offense against Ole Miss and just leaned on the run and didn't have Beck throw much beyond the LOS. That's their recipe for success.

No one runs a Bryce Young offense except us. We're certainly the only ones that get a Bryce Young result.

Bryce Young is playing in the NFL while Carson Beck is a 7th year college player who is only about seven months younger than Bryce. He's literally a man playing amongst boys.

Damn, didn't know he was that old. He's still not too old to be given an opportunity. I doubt that he'd leave IU though.

Yeah, why would he? They just redid his contract paying him nearly $12M per year and he's already god tier status in Indiana. He's been there two years and already delivered by far the best two seasons in program history.

Sure, you can argue that. If we want to talk Bryce, I'd argue that Bryce has a boy's body in a big man's league. Moreover, I'd argue that Beck would give us a better opportunity to win than Bryce right now. Bryce was beaten by Stetson Bennett, currently NFL QB3, in the national championship, and I'd bet that Bennett could best him again, much less Carson Beck.

There was a great article I read the other day talking about how much the transfer portal has added some level of parity to college football that has literally never existed in history because now you don't have 2-4 deep of 4 and 5 star recruits. Those guys can go and get PT at othet places. It has generally led to a MORE equal distribution of talent. Not equal by any means but definitely moreso.

I don't know that there has ever been an NFL head coach that with zero NFL experience has ever started in his mid to late 60's. I don't think many teams would even attempt that and I don't think Curt would be interested in the ones that would desperately consider it.

Beck??? In the NFL??? You aren't going serious, right?

I don't disagree but to get beck you got to use a 2nd.  No way this team does that

Perhaps, but I was thinking more day three. Just to be clear, I'm not caping for Beck, I just see the potential given the right opportunity. I think that both he and Drew Allar are day 3 developmental QBs. Day two is a bit rich for me. I haven't researched Garrett Nussmeier yet, but as of today the only QBs that I would consider in the second round are Nussmeier and Trinidad Chambliss. Not sure if Dante Moore will be considered a first rounder after his performance in the Peach Bowl.

And just to be clear again, I'm not necessarily saying that the Panthers should use a second rounder on any QB, I'm just generalizing. I absolutely do think that we should use a day 3 pick on a QB.

His price tag it seems is a 2/3.  I probably wouldn't do that but I would think hard in the 4rth and most def pull the trigger in the 5th in the unlikely scenario he fell

Moore will still be a first rounder. It's rare that anyone loses THAT much draft value after one game.

Plus, this is a QB desperate league. I mean, even JJ McCarthy was a top 15 pick. Pickett was a first rounder.

Beck is a 5th to 7th round NFL talent to me. I do agree that finally drafting a QB has to happen, preferably Day 3. Allar, Nussmeier, whomever. We need to throw a dart at QB in this draft.
