In addition to Evero there's one large change that likely should happen.

Not necessarily, Dave's plays are actually pretty well designed hes just horrible at game flow when calling them.

To that point, sometimes it seems like Canales is more throwing out sh¡t to see what sticks than actually responding to  and countering the defense. It's like playing checkers is his ceiling while most of the legit OCs are playing chess.

Even if that is the case, I'm pretty sure the last team he would pick to be OC for would be us...

Why? Charlotte would absolutely be an intriguing place to be an OC with its need for offensIve improvement, a young QB and two young receivers.

Why? Because we have a midget at QB that more times than not can't even throw the ball for 150 yards.

I'm pretty sure if it came down to a choice between being our OC or never coaching in the NFL again, McDaniel probably chooses the latter

Tepper put many shackles on Dave. I am sure it is in his contract he has full control over play calling and the WRs. That's why you see XL getting featured less (3 targets if he is lucky). I am sure he would have benched Bryce longer and brought in a new QB while reducing Chuba's role even more if he could.

A big reason why our offense sucks is Dave Canales. It's pretty obvious that after Bryce's first playoff game that he has untapped upside, and that Canales generally can't maximize Bryce's or any other skill player's talent. It's just no longer apropos to treat Bryce like low hanging fruit for all of the offense's woes.  At the end of the day, it's an OC's job to maximize the offense, "midget at QB" or not.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
