It could provide good value to get one.

We need two. Most teams are just upgrading or refinancing one.

This looks good for exactly what I was hoping we could do which is a ready to go vet and draft a guy with maybe even a higher ceiling.

We dont absolutely need 2 but certainly 1. Getting a veteran FA provides real flexibility in the draft.

2 if you mean between FA and draft.....then I agree

If we get a FA LB it shouldn't stop us from drafting one high imo.

It should if it allows us to draft a more valued position like OT, Center, pass rusher or DL in my opinion

Edmunds, Okereke, Wilson, Ellis, Milano, Anzalone, Lloyd and others would be a complete upgrade compared to what is currently rostered, so if this team doesn't see an immediate upgrade at this POSITION OF NEED early in FA than my faith in DM would be lost.

I don't think he will disappoint and makes a splash with retooling our LB room and bringing back the glory that is LB play with the Carolina Panthers.

Cuz GOD DAMNIT do I miss hard hitting LB/Defensive play that made me fall in love with this franchise........

It wasn't long ago people were complaining we put too much emphasis on linebacker. We were spoiled with  Luke and TD and years of solid LB corps. It matters

    • I know people get mad when I point this out but there are usually only 1-2 maybe 3 solid players each draft. Everyone likes to hype up in the offseason and think all 7 will be Pro Bowlers but realistically in my opinion: Freeling- Solid Starter for a while probably makes it to 2nd contract. Hunter- Turns out to be best player of the group. Turns into a Kawaan Short type DL. Brazzell- Serviceable, some flashes but doesn’t make it to a 2nd contract. Too slow in the short game, takes a while to build up speed, runs awkward on routes. Lee- I just don’t see it on tape. Maybe a taller version of Troy Pride.  Hecht- I think he will be around for a little while. Reminds me of Mays, where he was shaky at first but eventually became dependable. Wheatley- Really like him. Think this will be a guy that sticks around a while as a borderline starter/solid back up. He’s already probably better than Nick Scott. Kuwatch- Probably a depth/practice squad guy a few years and fizzles out.
    • And I believe the 1st matchup was Shough’s 2nd career start.   Remember Bryce’s 2nd start?    If you don’t, no sweat, he will probably replicate it a couple more times this year.
    • For a topic that started as a lighthearted, off-season "hey, bryce should keep the beard" banter, this thread sure took a turn
