He fell to 15. We picked at 19. It became doable and I think we'll regret sitting on our hands.

Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.

Maybe that rumored failed trade up with Baltimore was us. Who knows? But I don’t think so and also hope not.

We would have had to jump TB and teams have to be willing to move. Unless you want to get into an offer they can’t refuse territory like we did in 2023.

I just think, and always did, that the minute Icky went down to that particular injury our course was set, like it or not.  And I wasn’t crazy about it but sometimes inconvenient things happen and require sacrifice.  No new shiny toys for us, have to keep the lights on.

Also, if he is lining up as right edge rusher, at least we might have a counter.

I saw a stat while looking to see where they might play him that no one with arms shorter than 31 inches has recorded a sack in their first three years. Talk about obscure stats….

here is the exact quote, I left something out:

Since 2021, no player with sub-31” arms has even recorded a sack in his first three seasons. That’s alarming to read, and it bears remembering, but if there’s any player primed to surmount those odds, it’s Bain.

rumor was the ravens had a deal in place and the other team that backed out, they drafted 14th one ahead of yucs.

Its sorta believable given freeling was falling. Lucky the lions needed a RT, lolololls @ viking with their Non-Gm team.

Bain could be upset at Dan/panthers cause he knows of the ravens trade that Carolina backed out of, no idea.

People ran with that but we don’t know for a fact that was Carolina as far as I can tell.
Notable to me is: the compensation mentioned, if correctly reported, would pretty much rule us out. What the source had the as the value of the offer, our corresponding picks only get us halfway there.  Which, that wouldn’t fly and why even insult them? So too little info to sell me it was us.

It’s possible that it was misreported and the offer included more, but if that is true I don’t think I would have liked it. Or thought it wise.

Yea, its no clue if Carolina was the team, low odds maybe single digit.

I mean.....I hate this, but as good as the panthers draft was, I think the saints and BUCS had the same success level. They also killed and owned the draft, plus for not having a 1st ATL did great too.

Bain is a different breed. I can only explain it by saying the rest of the field is playing football and where Bain is there’s a havoc usually reserved for shotgun blasts or (no pun/no diss) car crashes. It really that type of energy he creates with his lower body. Freeling should be able to battle him once he develops his strength some. I don’t think Bain will ever go over 15 sacks a year, but I do think he’ll be an every down demon. Hugh Douglas on compound V

Bucs D should be damn near elite pretty soon. I really liked Trotter as a 3-4 ILB two down thumper pick for them. Anzalone and Rozeboom will be good enough until he’s ready. Bain and Yaya on the edges. Backed up by Muhammad(pretty damn good himself. Vea, Ashawn, Kancey on the line. Nicke type guys Parrish and now Keionte Scott. I think the offense down there will be just ok. Egbuka is the real deal, not really sold on any other skill guys.
