God I really regret signing back into this forum. Maybe I'll just hangout in the Youtube comment section from now on.

I guess it Is tough, defending him really doesn’t come with a lot of great material to credibly argue against his negatives.

You only have stuff like he was great at Bama.

Yes he can make all the throws.
No that tippy toe passing mess doesn’t hurt him, it works for him.
He made the playoffs and almost beat the Rams (your best one)

He needs a TE in the first round, and another 1st round WR.

And a coach that can actually call good plays and take advantage of his talent.

See, that stuff is getting weaker line by line. I am running low already, tough assignment.

u can always in your spare time go watch one of those silly YouTube hype videos that use alot of flashy music & digital editing to over inflate the actual value of a player

good God i hope you are not truly watching those silly hype videos & think that's actual real life NFL football ...just saying

I've seen him try to outrun an NFL DE. It's like watching a lion take down a gazelle - it's brutal.

That's not true. I've seen him beat linebackers to the goal line and first down marker. Also seen him make LBs and DBs miss in the open field. He'd be a legit running threat if he was better at holding onto the ball. Those fumbles...

What other options does he has? He doesn't have a long list of suitors.

The other NFC South GMs are dying for us to sign him to a big extension.

Well if we are publicly saying hes our guy, we believe in him etc why wouldnt he expect starter money?

Because he will not get that anywhere else. If he refuses it then trade him or cut him. Pretty simple really.

thats what a smart person would do (although I wouldnt extend him at any cost) but you have Tep, Dan and Dave all saying hes our guy etc.

The decision will come down to Canales and Morgan. Tepper doesn't care anymore.

I don’t want to spend a spend a ton of time here but can’t let this pas without saying something.
That is revisionist.
We finished 6-6 under Wilks before Bryce.
we added Bryce to the mix and ended up with the number one pick. Sank to the bottom. And fast. And stayed  there.  It took 3 years and untold picks and money to climb back to that 6-6 record that Wilks achieved  with that ‘dumpster fire’
He is the main one who made us a dumpster fire in 2023.
And this was even before Morgan turned his back on the defense.

Only real difference was DJ Moore wasn’t here and that was not nothing but people were talking playoffs in 2023 until they had a few week of Bryce.

Tepoer couldn’t get a coach that he wanted and a lot of that was who the hell wants to tie themselves to Bryce ? And an owner who wouldn’t dump him

Canales did pretty well considering but it was all hands on deck to save Young in that offseason

Talk about revisionist history...

Totally different situations. Did you forget that Wilkes won by playing sound defense and largely taking the ball out of the QBs hand? Donta Foreman pulled a Rico and ran over every team we played. We had an o-line of top tier run blockers, bottom tier pass blockers. We beat the Saints the last game 10-7. Darnold went 5/15 for 43 yards and 2 interceptions - and we won! Even rookie Bryce could have done that. Then all the centers and guards got hurt in 2023 and we had guys coming in off the street starting that had no business doing so. I'd bet alot of them never played another down in the NFL. Had scrubs coming in on Tuesday and starting on Sunday.

In regards to Bryce I think you might be wrong.  He was gushing about him on Pat M show

Tepper does not dictate who the teams qb will be, he never did. Fitterer sold him on Young in 2022. Everyone in the building went along with it as Fitterer was supposed to know what he was doing. He's no longer he because he didn't. Dan is getting the same leeway until he proves he doesn't.

There's no conspiracy to keep Young the qb here. The only thing that's going on is the are making sure they do not kick Young to the curb too soon like they did with Darnold and Mayfield.

It is true. He has 100% gotten run down by big fast guys before. These big guys are fast now, a lot of them.

It is also true what you say, he has evaded people as well. He does seem to be improving his awareness but I don’t think he has been caught by the last 280 pound man chasing him. There will be more.

The WC game, just rewatched, and on his TD scramble somehow the linebacker had mental paralysis just long enough to allow Bryce to evade him. It was a poor reaction though. Cement shoes for a second. All it took, he couldn’t recover. Good play by Bryce.

I am not gonna make a claim I can’t back up and say you are wrong but I think there is obvious enthusiasm and belief from Tepper.

And that, like poo and water, flows downhill. I would bet, just guessing, that Tepper has asked what an extension would cost already.  Like, what is it gonna cost me and can we work our cap, etc etc.

    • Yeah lol well the interest isn’t really about seeking stimulation.  I wanted to see how actually bad it was.  And how much of it was women setting him up to be their cash cow.  That is the stuff that leveraged the Panthers into David Tepper’s hands. It is important in that sense.     The worst that I have heard is that he got them in the car and clumsily reached across to help them with their seat belt and made contact. With his arm. That was probably his big slick move. And I can almost guarantee he wasn’t rejected every time. It is easy to picture that action bringing his head close enough to the woman’s head to where he could go in for the kiss if he thought he got the green light.    I really don’t care if JR was a horn dog. We heard all our lives up until the last few years that one of the perks of being really old is that you can flirt with the young women and it is not just tolerated but expected. So he was keeping a tradition alive at some point 😂
    • Well I rubbed some dirt on it and am still here just not optimistic about the future of the QB position. Even what I had accepted as a ceiling raised to an acceptable level turned out to be a bit of a mirage, upon rewatch of the WC game.  Good plays were there yes, but some pretty bad ones too that the good ones late in the game kind of obscured. I have to downgrade that a little.  Especially after rewatching the last 4 plays. I remember the arguments about he did his job the WRs didn’t but that was really just that last muff by Coker I think it was on our final offensive play.   To the future: I know what my level is for paying him and recommitting, but I don’t have any confidence that the team shares my high bar.    But thanks for the pep talk
